Static Smiley after 38 days of testing

Hiya.... so I finally got my static smiley face after 38 days of testing on the CB purple sticks.

This is my first month ttc and I was going according to the apps which is why I started early, I now know the apps are not accurate but carried on testing as I didn't want to miss my peak.

My period was on 22/04 to 25/04 and I am on CD47. Is this normal to ovulate so late? my cycles are usually not this long. I was dtd nearly every day as I was showing high fertility but gave up in the end as I never saw my peak, I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I've missed a whole month and not had a period, is this normal? I'm quite new to tracking and using ovulation sticks so any help would be appreciated.

OP if your period began on 22/04 then you are currently on CD16 which is a perfectly normal ovulation day 🤔

@Regenbogen22 thank u for your reply... have I been counting wrong all this time? I thought you had to count from the first day of your period? Xx

You do - did you mean 22/03 or 22/04? As if it was April then the last poster was correct

Regenbogen22 · 07/05/2022 18:37

"My period was on 22/04 to 25/04"

you wrote the above in your original post, so if your period started 22/04 then we are now 16 days on. Or have I misunderstood something?🤔

HackneyGirl2022 · 07/05/2022 18:39

@Fifi1086 @Regenbogen22 apologies... I meant my period was 22/03-25/03 xx

Ah! Good to clarify that! 😊
It is rather unusual to have such a long cycle if they are normally regular. I've had one cycle where my period was a week late, but never completely skipped one. Could it be anything in your diet or lifestyle that could have caused it this cycle?

Anyway, definitely log the positive opk in your app so you know for future reference. I hope the next cycles are back to normal for you ...or you get a BFP this cycle!

HackneyGirl2022 · 08/05/2022 21:01

@Regenbogen22 the only thing I can think of is that I have stopped taking iron tablets for a month only cause i keep forgetting to buy them from the chemist... it's just so unusual

I have definitely made a note of my positive opk. I keep putting off taking a pregnancy test, would the opk come up as peak if I was pregnant? Xx

@HackneyGirl2022 OPKs can detect HCG, so maybe worth doing a pregnancy test?

rickandmorts · 09/05/2022 07:36

OP I got pregnant in March and had sex the day before I was due my period. I thought I was well within the safe zone as my app told me I'd ovulated 2 weeks before. So you can ovulate really late!

HackneyGirl2022 · 09/05/2022 12:57

@Regenbogen22 I did another ovulation test this morning using the same holder and it showed a blank circle... does this mean I have ovulated? Is it worth doing another one later?

I also did a pregnancy test and it was negative 😖

@rickandmorts thank u.... the more I read I now understand that ovulating late is quite normal, I am new to all this so any knowledge is helpful

Congratulations on your pregnancy 💐

@HackneyGirl2022 sorry I only ever used cheapy OPK strips, found them easy to use....not sure what all the smiley things are! Maybe you did ovulate really late in a weird cycle.

HackneyGirl2022 · 09/05/2022 13:45

@Regenbogen22 sorry I was referring to the clear blue digital ovulation tests as they go by blank circle (low fertility) flashing smiley face (high fertility) and static smiley face (peak) xx
