When to ask for reassurance scan after previous ectopic

I've got a bfp again after recurrent miscarriage and an ectopic. My consultant said I should request an early reassurance scan but does anyone know the best time to do this? I don't want to go too early and not be able to see anything. Currently just over 5 wks.

My IVF clinic doesn't scan until 7 weeks.
Anytime over that is good I think

I was told by the EPU to call them to book in as soon as I got a positive test after my ectopic. They saw me at 5+4. Do give them a call, OP.

Call your EPU and ask them when they should scan!

To check that pregnancy is not ectopic & in the right place, it's 5 wks and over. To check that pregnancy is viable & there's a heartbeat, it's 7wks & over.

Mine said 6 weeks and that's what they did last time I was pregnant.

6 weeks minimum. Ideally 7. That is when you should be able to see a heartbeat and once you have seen a heartbeat, the chances of miscarriage drop dramatically.

But I have just reread your post and mention of ectopic. I think that is an asap scan to find out the location of the pregnancy. Then they may ask you to come back later (week 6/7) to see how things are progressing.

I’ve been there and done that with recurrent miscarriages. 💐

I would call the EPAU and let the professionals decide when they're best scanning you! Even if they want to do it in a few weeks they might make an appointment now.

Thank you everybody, really helpful. Was just a bit apprehensive and feeling quite anxious! My GP referred me for one last time and it was way too early and a waste of time.
Just spoke to the EPU and they've booked me in for a week and a half, so will be into the 7th week :)

Thank you @Confusssed1 ! Getting the strongest test lines I've ever had and on progesterone for the first time so fingers crossed!
