Second attempt at posting this, don't know where my first one went. Long story short. Dtd with a guy I've loosely been seeing on wed 27th April. Af is due 14th May and for some reason I took the urge last night to test with a cheapy 10mlU that I had in the cupboard. I didn't see a line last night but when I looked this morning I can see a squinter. Surely this would be too early for a positive test?? Would anyone be able to invert it please? I'm trying not to think either way but I am curious now. Of course I had owed this morning before looking at the test again so I'm trying to hold on in the hope I can test again today.

PLEASE HELP

Hi, didn’t want to read and run!
I can see a faint line, did it come up in the time frame? It could be an evap line if not!

Not sure what outcome you’re hoping for but I hope you get it! X

Were you using contraception?

Graceybaby · 06/05/2022 11:07

If it wasn't there last night, more then likely an evap line? And also if you're not due on until the 14th I'd say too early for a positive?

Regenbogen22 · 06/05/2022 11:07

You need to read the test in the correct timeframe. It could very well be an evap since you did the test last night and checked it again this morning.

I would test tomorrow morning first thing.

Beachsidesunset · 06/05/2022 11:08

There's a faint line, but it was well after the time limit and can easily be a false positive. Wait a few days and test again.

numbmumbum · 06/05/2022 11:08

No it appeared after the 5 minutes, it’s more the fact it has a pink tinge to it in reality that’s making me doubt it’s an evap. What will be will be I suppose. Just needed to know if I was the only one seeing it

Do you want to have a child with someone you've been 'loosely seeing'?

You said on your original post the line wasn't there last night?? That you only saw the line this morning...

Confused

numbmumbum · 06/05/2022 19:38

I don't understand why you're confused, I didn't see the line in the 5 minutes but I did this morning so that was after the 5 minutes development time?

You said you didn’t see a line last night. It’s more likely to be an evap than a positive as your period isn’t due for 8 days and the line didn’t appear within the time frame, so hopefully you are safe here OP. All you can do is retest at a later date though.

BattenburgDonkey · 06/05/2022 19:41

To add I misread and thought you said it appeared within the 5 minutes, not after. I imagine the other poster did the same thing.

numbmumbum · 06/05/2022 19:42

It's okay, today seems to be a confusing day all round for so many people online and in real life 😂😂 it's a freaky Friday

I'd think it's too early to tell if you only had unprotected sex last week & you're not due on till the 14th May...

numbmumbum · 06/05/2022 20:46

@almostmummyof2 that's what my initial thought was hence posting for opinions as I really was doubting what I thought I could see 🤣 the things we do nowadays with the internet when once we would've just been impatiently waiting for another week to test

I think there's a bit of confusion here - you take a test, wait 5 mins then look. Then bin it as after about 10 minutes it's then void. This is because the evaporation as it dries completely can create a false line (an 'evap').

Even if you ovulated the day you had sex, it's v v unlikely to get a positive test at 7dpo. So overall I'd say it's a false result.
