TWW symptom spotters

Im quite rational and scientifically minded so I researched where the egg is at different DPO. I found out a few months ago that the egg takes 4 days to travel down the Fallopian tube. Then implantation occurs from 6DPO at the earliest. Before this I thought sex-fertilisation-implantation and BAM! All within a few hours.

This didn't stop me from wondering if my 2DPO cramps last month meant I was some sort of medical marvel and had a super dooper early implantation. SPOILER: I wasn't a medical marvel (much to the disappointment of my mother) but what this did lead me to find out was that the increase in progesterone in the TWW causes the same symptoms as pre period and early pregnancy. So that's just great, no point in symptom spotting in the TWW. I also found out that any "early pregnancy symptoms" as a result of increasing pregnancy hormones means any HPT should show positive which means any nausea I felt was not due to pregnancy if the test was negative. (Rather than the one to many wines the day before #TeamDrinkUntil-ItsPink)

That being said, fuck it. The TWW is the longest time ever known to man and if symptom spotting is going to get me through it then I'll do it.

What "symptom" are you/were you sure is a sign of super early pregnancy?

I'll go first: my cat is exceptionally fussy and needy. This surely means a BFP is coming my way next week. Right?

@CandleMaker22 hopefully! How are you doing?? How's the little bean? Any weird and wonderful preggo symptoms to report? 😊 xx

candlemaker22 · 16/05/2022 14:46

I'm doing good thank you. Trying to stay excited and positive but it's hard. I want to talk about "when" the baby comes rather than "if".

My main symptom just seems to be "bitch". My poor DH. He says it's worth it (just) GrinBlush

@candlemaker22 I know what you mean. Do you think you will get a private early scan to put your mind at ease?

Funny you should say that, yesterday my Hubby said you are definitely pregnant because you're being a cow!! 🤣 to the point his eating was annoying me yesterday, usually the guy can do no wrong in my eyes but he's really annoying me for no reason the last few days! 🤣

veronicagoldberg · 16/05/2022 16:14

This thread is so sweet!

candlemaker22 · 16/05/2022 16:42

I've already been told I will have a scan at 7 weeks, and 10 weeks if the 7 week one goes well so I won't have a private scan at 6 weeks just incase it causes any worry as it's still so early. Plus last time we went for a private scan we got taken into the room of doom and told there was no heartbeat.

Yes! my husband is the least annoying person - until I'm pregnant. Like, does he normally breathe that loud?? I'm looking forward to seeing your next test! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

FRER just arrived and couldn't wait till tomorrow to use FMU, so here is the result this afternoon(12 dpo), a faint line but it definitely looks more pink in real life. I'm starting to get excited that I may be pregnant after all! Fingers crossed for a true BFP in the next couple of days 🥰 🤞

@candlemaker22 that's good they are having you in early for scans. You're right, no need to have a private one at 6 weeks if they are scanning at 7 weeks. I know the room of doom too well but this one will be different 😊 keep positive Mama!

I just uploaded my test from this afternoon, let me know what you think xx

candlemaker22 · 16/05/2022 18:16

Oooh yes I can see that line clearly, although it is messing with my head cos it looks upside down 🤣

Did you get a pack of 2? Fingers crossed the line gets darker tomorrow or Wednesday 🤞🏻🤞🏻🍀

Hi Ladies, to keep you updated, we lost our little one last night. We were 5 weeks. I was on aspirin and progesterone but it wasn't enough to save the baby. Obviously we are utterly devastated xx

I am so, so sorry. Words aren’t enough. I wish you all the healing in the world. It’s the hardest thing to go through.

I currently have a possible (unconfirmed) ectopic so bracing myself for similar.

Sending you so much love 💙

TTCnumberone · 08/06/2022 10:28

@WednesdayStar4 I'm so sorry for the delay, I've only just seen your message! How are you lovely? I hope you are OK xxx

Hey! Looking for either a shake or some words of reassurance lol! We decided this month to not really track and just take the pressure off, I also have refused to buy any tests (as I’ve wasted SO much money on them in previous months) and I have tried to put the TWW out of my mind. However, as much as I agreed with my DH that we were being relaxed, I did know when my fertile window was as my cycle is fairly regular, and so I know we DTD 3 x during fertile days.
Anyway, last month I was really obsessive during TWW, I think I did a test at like 5dpo and obviously it was negative, that’s the kind of crazy I was. I could have sworn I had every symptom; I was tired, emotional, sore boobs, bloated, tired and nauseous. Needless to say, AF arrived and I was gutted (I still tested every day before AF arrived despite BFNs).
This month I have no symptoms, and no real PMS symptoms either except a tiny amount of pain in my boobs if I really pressed on them. I don’t feel tired, nauseous, bloated or anything. I actually feel quite energetic and positive. AF would usually arrive somewhere between day 24-27, it’s day 24 today and no AF. The last two cycles it came on d24. Has anyone had it where they have no symptoms in the TWW and still get a BFP?
Sorry it’s such a long one; can you tell I’m going round in circles? I know I could take a test but I’m so reluctant as if its a BFN I will kick myself for a) spending the money and b) causing myself more upset. My plan is to wait until Sunday and if still no AF I will test. Although I guarantee now because I’ve written this AF will arrive later lol! Thank you to anyone who has patience to read my word vomit xx

I got a positive opk 2 days ago and last night I was woke with period like cramps, I know it's not implantation but just wondering would anyone else know what it could be? Never had this before and have been pregnant 3 times but unfortunately lost them 😞 I'm not even thinking oh could I be organ to but definitely curious as to what was happening

Hopingforarainbow27 · 18/06/2022 09:03

Pregnant*

Ellswells3 · 19/06/2022 16:49

Well it’s Sunday and I’ve now got a BFP on a clear blue digital 1-2 weeks. It’s crazy as last month I really believed I was pregnant as I had EVERY symptom, this month I genuinely haven’t felt any different and I’ve got my BFP! I know it’s so hard not to symptom spot but it does go to show that our bodies play with us!!
Good luck to everyone on their journey xx

Hopingforarainbow27 · 19/06/2022 17:47

Congrats @Ellswells3 🙂

Blue2020 · 19/06/2022 19:04

@Ellswells3 congratulations.

We are TTC#1, cycle one after a miscarriage. I’m 7dpo and I don’t feel any different. I’m wondering if I even ovulated, since progesterone should be at the height right now in this phase.

On a cycle when I had AF at the end I had all sorts of symptoms typical of progesterone but it convinced me I may have conceived. On the cycle I had a bfp I had none of the above but I did have a few mild symptoms that were different - a dry mouth and by 11-13dpo I needed an afternoon nap a few times.

I don’t have anything at the minute. Probably too early, or my body is just getting ready for AF in a week.

Hopingforarainbow27 · 24/06/2022 08:51

Can anyone say ANYTHING? 🤦🏽‍♀️ am I pushing it? I can see something in real life but it's barely there and wondering if it's even in the right place! I know this is annoying but feel like I need other people to help me get through the waiting
