Anyone else scared to test?

Anyone else so scared to test in case you will see a BFN? I have been trying to conceive for a over a year with no joy. My latest cycle ever was 44 days, over a year ago. Recently by cycles have been pretty regular 31-35 days tops. I am now day 38 and have no sign of AF. I usually get very heavy sore boobs before AF, but nothing. I am spotty, a dinner I made a few days ago made my stomach turn and couldn't eat it, I have been needing to pee more than usual and I had a very vivid positive test dream last night! I only had sex once this month so I know its SUPER unlikely, I'm just so fed up of my body tricking me. I have ordered some tests would should arrive tomorrow. I simply feel odd and feel like I could be, but then again I have been let down so many times. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hello!

I remember the feeling! It's like a punch to the stomach when you get that negative after being sure you're pregnant! Not sure if this is helpful or not, but in my experience, in January, I had sore boobs, feeling sick and just generally feeling different. Cycle was 5 days later than usual so I was sure I was... Not pregnant. But then in Feb, didn't feel any different, no signs... Pregnant! Very weird.

Can I ask, what are you currently doing to help with your TTC journey? I can share some tips that worked for me, if you're not already doing them :)

Hi Leah!
Our bodies can be super cruel right? I'm just so fed up of the disappointment. In regards to TTC, I follow my Flo app where I have been logging my cycles, and we always try in my predicted ovulation window days, yet still no luck for me. If I am pregnant this time, it would be a huge shocker since I really didn't 'try' this month. but I just feel as if I could be! I will only know by testing I suppose. I will keep you updated. Any tips for TTC would be appreciated

Most definitely! It’s the worst thing getting that negative! Yes I would love to hear how you get on. Here’s what I believe really helped me!

My cycles are pretty regular and I was using Flo too! But I started to use the Clear Blue ovulation sticks (pricey but worth it) and it actually shown that my ovulation days were slightly different to what Flo would predict. So I’d definitely invest in those, if not that brand then there’s plenty of alternatives out there

i also used Conceive Plus fertility lube. I don’t think I would have not pregnant without it to be honest! But who knows. Helped me get pregnant twice! Sadly the first ended in MMC but nothing to do with the lube. A little goes a longggg way so I wouldn’t use too much. I used the applicators and inserted as near to my cervix as possible

These two tips I believe I really wouldn’t have got pregnant without! Best of luck and if you need any further advice, feel free to shout me! 😀

It's not necessarily the cycle day you need to be aware of but the days past ovulation (DPO). If your cycles vary then your ovulation date with vary too and you could be missing the fertile window completely. If your cycles vary 31-35 days then you could be off by 4 days (unless you have sex regularly regardless)

I wouldn't rely on apps because they just guess either based on your previous cycles or a "normal" 28 day cycle. Even with a 28 day cycle you may have a luteal phase of 10 days which mean you ovulate on CD18 rather than the "normal" CD14. The app wouldn't know your luteal phase unless you track using OPKs and/or BBT.

Rather than relying on the apps have a look at OPKs which you can get pretty cheaply on Amazon and taking your temp every morning to confirm ovulation. Once you've used OPKs for a couple of months you will have a better idea of when you ovulate. You can also note your cervical mucus which indicates the fertile window.

If you are pregnant enough to get symptoms a test should show up positive and it only takes one go. One of my pregnancies I fell pregnant after DTD a week before ovulation. No idea how it happened and we were amazed. Even had a conversation with my hubby to see if there was any sex we had which I had forgot to log 🤣 (there wasn't as we were staying with relatives around ovulation so we ruled ourselves out that cycle).

Thanks for the advice ! I will try OPK's next cycle (if I'm not pregnant of course!) I will be testing today, still no sign of AF now on day 39 of a normally 30-34 day cycle. No real symptoms today, boobs are fine, no sickness and the constant urinating has subsided. The suspense is killing me! I will keep you updated once I take the test ladies. 😘
