Basal body temp and ovulation tests

Hi all,

i hope you’re all having a lovely Tuesday!

i was hoping for some advice on my situation. I am ttc and I use natural cycles to try and track my ovulation. I also use the clear blue digital ovulation tests.
I got my solid smiley CD15 but my natural cycles app said I didn’t ovulate until a week later CD22 (have attached a pic of my chart)
I guess I just wanted to know if anyone has been in this situation before and what they suggest doing?
I tried on the days of my flashy and solid smiley but now I’m worried I completely missed the window if I didn’t ovulate until a week later.
feeling so deflated as it’s so disheartening!
TYIA for any help xxx

Hi @AML88 what is the dotted/dashed line at the end of your graph?
Your temps are pretty erratic and I'm not really seeing a massive rise in temps based on that chart 🤔Ideally you should see a biphasic graph, with pre-ovulation temps below the line and post ov temps above.

Thank you so much for your speedy reply!
The dotted line is a prediction which changes when I input more information.
i agree my temps have been very up and down, my guess is that I didn’t actually ovulate this month!

I would go off the ovulation tests. I'm surprised NC gave you an ovulation date with that chart as it's so irregular - but mine is currently saying I ovulated the day before my LH surge, so I'm v skeptical about it atm! If it was closer to CD15 then you're only a few days away from testing or seeing if AF appears...

I would disagree and follow the temps rather than the ovulation tests - as it's possible to have multiple LH surges without ovulating whereas a temp rise would be much more reliable.

Based on your chart I agree that your temps seem fairly low overall and don't offer the most obvious biphasic chart (I would however recommend using fertility friend for the temp tracking as natural cycles isn't great for TTC) but CD22 looks a lot more likely and CD15 doesn't have a temp rise at all so I don't think you ovulated then.
