Hi
I am ttc my 2nd child and I have been doing so without all of the plotting and charting.

I have not got a clue when I ovulate or if I do for that matter I suffer from a underactive thyroid and have heard that it can suppress ovulation I also had a 3 month absence with my af recently which my gp put down to my thyroid problem.

My af has now returned and I would like to determine if and when I ovulate but where do I start and what do I need.

Also are there any tests that your docotr can carry out that will determine if you ovulate or not.
Please help confused atm.

Hi zez I think we spoke on the other thread. Very similar experiences!

What I've been doing this cycle is paying attention to CM then using OV sticks but it doesn't seem to tally up. (TMI) Noticing what looks like fertile CM but sticks not positive. I'm at a loss myself as I dont want DP to think I'm obsessing. I would love a clear blue monitor thingie but they are £100 in shops and still about £60-£90 2nd hand on ebay plus paying for the sticks.
I'm taking Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) to regulate my cycles and CM although I stopped today as I've read on here you're supposed to stop at ovulation (which I thought I was ).

You can have a blood test at gp's to determine ovulation. You should get one as you're Hypothyroid.

Sorry, it's probably not much help

Hi fruitloop79

Yes we did and it does seem we are going through a similar thing.

You may recall that I was on cycle day 32 and no sign of af.
Well it has decided to show itself so not pregnant therefore no going thorugh the trauma of negative pregnancy tests with no af.

Its really strange but I sort of felt dissapointed as it meant I wasn't pregnant, but I am also glad that my cycle seems to have become regular so at least I may have some idea of where I am.

I am wondering if taking it too seriously with all of the charting and observing just makes it more frustrating, and stressful, and whether its best to just have sex regular and hopefully fall pregnant.

My problem is my age now I have just turned 37 and I wish I hadn't left it this late for a 2ND but it has taken the best part of two years to persuade my dp to let me have another.

Tbh if I knew for sure I was ovulating that would put my mind at rest I did use cheap ovulation predicor sticks off ebay for a time but never got a positive but I was never sure when I was supposed to be using them as my cycle had done the dissapearng act at that time.
I will ask my doctor about a test to determine ovulation.

How long have you been ttc and do you have other children.
