Started taking it yesterday on CD1 as my luteal phases have been 10 days or less (as little as 7) the last few cycles. Never had this problem before I had a miscarriage in January. It says take two a day, but am I meant to take them for my whole cycle or just until I’ve ovulated? I cannot find a straight answer on Google.

I'm sure I took it up until I was pregnant. Then I stopped it the evening primrose and vitamin b6 I was taking.

I’ve been reading about it online all morning and still can’t get a definitive answer! Lots of people saying stop taking it at ovulation. But if I’m using it to lengthen my LP, wouldn’t I need to be taking it during the LP?

Any other suggestions?
i’m thinking of taking 2 a day as the box days until ovulation, and then 1 a day during the TWW. Info online is so contradictory- It’s fine to take after ovulation, no it’s not because it can cause MC, if you stop taking it after BFP that can cause a MC so keep taking it, don’t keep taking it because it’s not safe…
But if I only take it until ovulation, then surely I wouldn’t be getting any benefits from it during my LP which is the part I’m most concerned about?

I used to take it for the first 12 days of each cycle. I hope it helps you!

curliegirlie · 25/04/2022 16:34

Maybe start up to ovulation for a couple of months and see where that gets you…

LuckyMoonstone · 25/04/2022 17:46

@curliegirlie yeah I think the more I’ve read, the more I’d rather just take them until ovulation. See what happens to my LP this cycle.

Any further advice on this from anyone else? I’m approaching ovulation and still torn on whether to stop or carry on. I don’t want to do anything to jeopardise getting pregnant this cycle, but I still can’t make sense of what the best thing to do is.

@LuckyMoonstone I got some today too.

I plan to take until I get a positive OPK. I guess it'll be in my system then and hopefully enough to lengthen LP (mine is short due to breastfeeding)

curliegirlie · 02/05/2022 20:30

@LuckyMoonstone Mine should be coming tomorrow - I hope they do the trick for ovulation again. This cycle - so many negative and not even approaching positive tests - drove me officially bonkers! I didn’t actually take them when TTC DD2 as I was still breastfeeding, but I still remember what a difference they made previously, so I’m hoping they will kickstart things again.

Right I’ve done some MORE reading and I’ve decided to take it every day. If I get a BFP I’ll reduce to one a day and come off slowly.
I worry that if I stop taking them at ovulation, my LP wont be affected and that’s the thing I really wanted to sort out. And then if I get a BFP and come off them altogether, it wont be good for my progesterone levels.
