Clear blue ovulation tests

Hi all,

i hopw everyone is well!

i just wondered if I could get some advice please? I recently had some hormone and fertility tests done which weren’t great and now my doctor wants me to record down all ovulation etc.

i have been using the clear blue (4 or more days) and just wanted to know I a flashing smiley counts as a positive test? Or do I mark it as negative for that day? I can only put one option so didn’t want to put positive and not actually ovulate?

i hope this makes sense - I’m on my 5th flashy smiley and losing the will to live ha!

I wondered the same thing on the Flo app a few months ago! Apparently the flashing is still a negative, and only record a positive when you get the static. Like I say that's what Flo tells you to do, I imagine yours would be the same... xx

Also, I know they say to stop testing if you get 8 or 9 flashing smiles (can't remember which, sorry!) but for the past 2 months I've persisted and got my static on days 10 and 14!

A flashing smiley would be negative and a static smiley a positive

i finally got my solid smiley but my basal body temp didn’t rise after my predicted ovulation so I’m guessing I didn’t actually ovulate!
gosh this whole process is enough to send you insane isn’t it 🥹

The sticks never worked for me, I am convinced I actually missed my window with them! I tracked my temp and DTD every other day in the end and got my BPF last week. I think they added stress to our situation too but I know some people really like them 😊

I'm after some advice. I'm tracking ovulation atm. According to the clear blue website I should have started tracking yesterday. I did a test this morning on the advanced clear blue ovulation test. The display showed a blank circle. Should I test again tonight or should I wait until tomorrow? Any advice would be appreciated. I have also attached a pic of the stick when I took it out of the holder.

Hi @Beautyangel1 you aren't meant to take the stick out just pay attention to the reading. I believe from memory it's every day whilst empty circle then once you get flashy smiley do morning and night. Until you get the solid smiley. Then that's meant to be your most fertile time for next 48 hours - I think it says that on clear blue website but take a look I know I read it somewhere when using them .
As mentioned earlier though I am quite dubious about the sticks for me they caused nothing but confusion, maybe track your BBT too as I found that more helpful.

Just wanted to say I tested positive on day 11 with these so don’t always follow the instructions. The result is 19 weeks old and laying beside me in bed. Would have completely missed the window without the tests!

Thank you for your reply, I think the same has happened to me! I got my solid smiley on Saturday last week and my basal body temp has been all over the place so took a while to confirm my ovulation. It said that I ovulated 7 days after that? I thought the maximum time after the LH surge was 72 hrs?!
im so confused and now upset because I think I have missed the fertile window as I was more active when I had the clear blue results 🥺
my guess is that I didn’t actually ovulate which isn’t great. Have attached my graph xx
