Hi there i need a bit of advice! My local EPU offered me an early 6 wk scan after my previous miscarriage im now really regretting it. From my calculations i should be 7wks 4 days but im not convinced i am. My first scan the CRL was 1.7mm and was told this is too small for 6wks come back next week. I went back today and its 3mm so they said sorry for your loss here are your options ... im very unsure i said i want to atleast wait 1 more week to see if it grows or not before getting an operation or pill! Has anybody experienced something similar? Im convinced im actually 5/6 wks which would seem correct? Also it has grown just not as fast as they hope for 7 wks? HELP! X

Hiya sorry your going through this it must be worrying when was your lmp? Did you track ovulation? I had a private scan at 6 weeks 4 days and they saw a heartbeat etc did they say if was a featal pole or yolk sak etc? As maybe the dates are wrong? X

I don't have much advice just solidarity as I am going through the same thing. Baby only measured 2.3mm at 7+5 with good heartbeat, the following scan a week later baby had doubled in size still measuring behind but heartbeat is still strong. I'll be scanned again next week when I'm 10+5 so hoping baby has caught up but I'm not too hopeful.
Did you see a heartbeat?
Have you still got pregnancy symptoms mine a disappeared and have weirdly returned this week.

Being in limbo is so hard.

I had a scan at 6+6 and baby was measuring 5+6 they said and baby was 4.2mm. They didn't seem concerned but I was adamant it was small/ something was wrong. We went back at 8+6 and sadly we had lost the baby approx a week later. Fingers crossed all is well with you, but I've been in your position and all the knowledge you can get is helpful in trying to get through the unknown. Take care x

Thing is with early scans they can be off on measurements etc seeing a heartbeat is a good sign some women dates hsve Bern a week behind what they think then later scans reveal they are infact a week further so it does happen it's horrible being in limbo and boy knowing I know the worry and frustration and how long a week can feel when you just want to know.. My symptoms at beginning fluctuated some days boobs hurt some don't I hope both you ladies get good news soon and here to listen to you both and for support x

Maybebabyno2 · 21/04/2022 18:42

Could they see the heart beat op? Because I wouldn't be considering anything if heart was beating as they can be wrong with measurements

💐to you xx

Hey I'm in the exact same position. Had a scan at 6w+5days but baby is measuring 4.3m. Did you have a heart beat at 6w+5days?

PeanuttyButter · 21/12/2022 23:46

@tallgirl232 I was 6+6 when I had my scan and yes there was a heartbeat at that time. It was only measuring 4.2mm which put it at 5+6 even though I knew when I ovulated.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I'm sorry for loss and know it might not be easy discussing this .
I was just wondering whether there was a heart beat at your 8w+6d scan and if the fetus grew ? My next scan is 9w+5d (private) so hoping I'll know fully then.

PeanuttyButter · 22/12/2022 13:01

@tallgirl232 no, unfortunately there was no heartbeat at my next scan at 8+6. I had another missed miscarriage unfortunately followed by surgery. I have my fingers crossed for you that all will be well at your next scan.

PeanuttyButter · 22/12/2022 13:02

Just to add. Baby had grown a little since the previous scan but was still only measuring in the 6 week category.

Just wanted to leave a note on here in case someone new sees this with a similar situation. I ended up having a scan at 8w5d and the baby caught up and I was measured exactly at 8w5d with a good heartbeat (20mm) So, it's possible for fetus to catchup if they're measuring behind of 5-7 days earlier.
