Firstly, I want to thank anyone who takes the time to read and respond.
I have been looking for answers and honestly, I am just not sure where else to look at this time, so please be honest whether your opinion is positive or negative!

QUESTIONS;

  1. Have you ever had an experience similar to this and what was the outcome?
  2. Should I wait a few weeks to see if I experience any new changes or symptoms or should I buy more tests?
  3. Can I trust any results from tests I do buy?
  4. After reading my situation below, do you believe I can still be pregnant or am I over thinking everything. (Honesty please!)
  5. Is having almost no symptoms common?
  6. Should I keep taking Inositol?

MY STORY ;

So I must start by saying I am 29 and my period has never regulated, even as a teenager.
When I was 15 I was put on the depo shot for birth control, I was on this for 2 years and afterwards I didn't get my period back until I started birth control pills a year later.
While on birth control this was the only time my period was normal.

I got married at 18 to a man in the military and we've been together ever since. I got off the birth control pills when I was 24 and my period came back eventually. Sometimes it'd take 3 months to see it, sometimes 6+ months, I'd never know but I would always get very sore breasts and dryness at least a week in advance so I'd know it is coming.

Anywho, I did not get on any birth control after this, so my husband and I have been 'not preventing' for 6 years.
This past December I was feeling quite bummed because I hadn't gotten a period since last March so I did some reasearch online and I found these pills;
Myo & d-chiro inositol on amazon, they had amazing reviews so I said, yeah okay sure, I'll try em!

2 weeks after I started these, I got the sore breasts and bam, got my period just like that.
I was in tears since I hadn't seen one since March and I was just so happy!
So now I am charting my cervical mucus and trying to do my best to get us pregnant!
This Period: Dec 29 - Jan 3rd

February rolls around. Still nothing, getting nervous but the breast pain starts kicking in.
It's valentines day, Feb 14th, sore breasts, cramping. dryness, no period still so I got out and by pregnancy test just in case.
Next morning rolls around I get my first morning pee ready for the test.
I wipe.... AF started.
I am sad but also happy it came back at least!
This Period: Feb 15- Feb 20th

So I counted the days between and I figured. Alrighty so about 42 cycle, so I should be seeing my next period around April first.

March 30th rolls around. Zero symptoms.
April first. No period, no symptoms.

I AM STILL TAKING INOSITOL DAILY

A week later. Still nothing.. the only thing I notice that is very odd is that my cervical mucus, which is usually dry before my period, has increased? It's clear(like egg whites) and there every time I wipe which usually only happens around ovulation.

So April 8th I get out my pregnancy test (Digital) guessing I am going to see that 'not pregnant' so I can move on.
And after a few minutes... BFP!!
I am standing there shaking, crying, staring at the word 'Pregnant' after trying now for 6 years with my pcos symptoms and unregulated period.
I am just SO happy in this moment!! I cry to my family members on video chat, my husband comes home later on and holds me crying together, neither of us believing we actually made this possible.
It was the happiest moment in my life, hands down.

And then Monday April 11th rolled around.
That morning I pulled out another pregnancy test just to see that positive again before I was about to call my doctor to make an appointment.
I stood there happily waiting only for the...'Not Pregnant' to pop up this time.(again digital)
So I stood there in shock and confused but I still made the doctors appointment.
And I was thankful to hear they could schedule me for the same day, so at 2pm I went to my doctors.
They had me take another urine test; of course negative like that morning, so we did a blood test.

That night I couldn't sleep, I just felt so confused and sad after seeing the negative after my positive.
The next day the results are in...
'The blood test for HCG is negative you are NOT pregnant' I read, and I feel like my world comes crashing down.

I held something that TOLD ME I was pregnant. The box says 99% accurate. The things I read online say the test will not read positive unless HCG is present...so why did mine show positive then everything 3 days later day negative?

SO...I have not tested since. I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY PERIOD.
My cervical mucus is still clear and present every time I wipe and other than that I have bloating going on.
.....BUT I have no other symptoms.

So am I crazy to sit here and think I still could be pregnant? Should I wait a few weeks and see if anything changes? I just feel so confused... and after the blood test everyone around me says I must not be pregnant so I have been telling myself that too...but where is my period?

I just want to know if there is anyone out there who has had a similar experience... I just feel so confused and alone!

I’ve had a digital tell me I was pregnant before when I knew it was wrong. I was negative a few days later. Have you spoken to the doctor about the medicine you’re taking? Did they say anything about causing false positives?

I think it’s very unlikely you are pregnant as you’ve had the blood tests. I would make an appointment with the gp to go through the medication you’re taking and they should be able to offer advice and alternatives if the one you’re taking is unsuitable. Have you had a review with the gp since taking it?

@Qwill

Thank you for the response!

This is an over-the-counter medication that I did tell my doctor about, but she didn't tell me to stay on it or not, she basically said that was up to me to decide.
But also, this doctor I have is very rude and anything I try to mention she seems to quickly brush off so she can make our session as quick as possible, my husband felt this way as well.

& I currently don't have an OB or any other doctor here currently, we moved here about a year ago and we are moving across the country in 2 weeks. (Military life, haha)

I also don't believe I am pregnant, but I am not understanding what is going on, I even shared my concerns with my doctor, but she didn't give me any answers.

Is there anything else that could be throwing my cervical mucus out of whack? It just seems odd things on this medication were perfectly fine and now I go without my period and for the first time ever, I don't understand what my body is doing.

Hi there! I am so glad I ran into your post because our stories are very similar! I started birth control also the depo shot around 17/18 for about 2 and half years. I got off the depo shot because I started having really heavy and long periods after the 2nd year of being on it. My doctor says with some women their bodies start to "reject" the depo for whatever reason after 2-3 years of being on it. So I did what you did and went on the "pill" for birth control.. I tried that for atleast 8-10 months, and finally decided to get off birth control since I started to feel so sick all the time.

So August 2020 was my first month of being off birth control. I did not have a period until November 2019 which I thought was normal being that my body may have just been adjusting to being off birth control. Fast forward to January 2021, was when I had my next period. I thought it was odd that I missed December's period but I was okay maybe my body is still adjusting... well after my Jan 2021 period.. I did not have a period for a whole year! For the first half of 2021 I went crazy thinking I was feeling pregnant and had all the symptoms, but I had negative pregnancy tests the whole time. I knew something was off with my body and felt like something was wrong. I kept bringing it up to my doctor and the told me the same thing "don't worry about it until you are ready to start trying for a baby" so I was like I guess? Feb 2021, my partner decided to also try "if it happens it happens" method of trying but not really trying for a baby. Fast forward to October 2021, I finally went back to the doctor and demanded to do more tests being that I still did not have a period and knew something was off. Sure enough, I was diagnosed with PCOS! So I started doing a bunch of research and went crazy on just reading other peoples stories. Fast forward to January 2022, the beginning of the month I decided to start taking a bunch of vitamins, and sure enough I got my first period after a year. Since I started taking the vitamins I've been having my period like clockwork since January 2022. I even fell pregnant earlier this month (March 2nd 2022), but sadly had a chemical pregnancy. My partner and I decided to try again since I was ovulating, and now we are in our two week wait.
One of the vitamins I was taking was also Myo & d-chiro inositol from amazon, but stopped after a week or so since it made my stomach upset, so instead of Myo & d-chiro inositol, I started taking B12, D3, Magnesium, Probiotics, and Prenatal vitamins every night, and has changed my life! I also even started losing weight!! Which was my favorite thing about taking the vitamins since I had gained like 25 lbs in 2021 and could not get the weight off no matter how much I diet and worked out. I also want to note that I did stop drinking completely in March 2022, and also saw a difference and felt like that may have helped with getting pregnant earlier this month. I would suggest, try taking those vitamins too with the Myo & d-chiro inositol? I would also suggest doing another HCG blood test at the clinic to rule that possibility in or out. I totally understand how you feel though, I was broken that I ended up having a chemical pregnancy, I was also jumping over the moon when I got my first ever positive "pregnant". Even though it ended up in a chemical pregnancy it gave me some hope to keep trying being that people say you are more fertile after a chemical pregnancy. But you are def. not alone or crazy!!!

@Lexxa

I was almost in tears reading your response to hear how similar your situation has been to mine!

I can't tell you how alone I have felt since no one in my family, or friend circle has been through anything like my situation and everyone around me has gotten pregnant the moment they've wanted to, so I've just felt so disconnected and broken!

HUGE congrats on the pregnancy and I pray that all goes well for you, truly!

Honestly after your post I immediately added a prenatal vitamin to my amazon list, should I also get is B12, D3 while still taking the inositol as well?...or would that be overkill?

I did want to stay on Inositol because it WAS bringing back my period, it has taken away my daily headaches, has given me more energy overall and because of the noticeable changes in pcos symptoms I did want to stay on it but maybe I should try vitamins with a prenatal instead as you did and see how my body reacts?
Again thank you so SO much for your post, I can't tell you how much hope its given me Flowers

& also to avoid my very rude doctor (and not waste anymore of her time apparently) I was going to avoid doing another blood test here.
We are moving across the country in 2 weeks and once we are settled in the new place and I get set up with a new doctor, I would definitely get another blood test done if I don't have my period / have any other symptoms by then.

Aww I am so glad that I could pass along some hope! I totally understand by what you mean of feeling alone. I feel the same way about no one around me really understanding what I am going through or relate with just my symptoms. I am so glad I ran into your post. You too, have given me some hope that I am not alone and it's just not me on this crazy journey.

But yes, definitely try the vitamins. I would take them all, and see how your body reacts. Out of all them, I would def suggest the B12 & D2 the most. I feel like probiotics helped with my bloating, and overall just confidence?
I hope nothing but the best for you, and hope that the vitamins does wonders for you! Please keep me updated on this post, even if you just want to chat again :) Smile
Good luck with the moving, and hopefully that move isnt too stressful. I also found that walking a 1-3 miles daily also helped overall with just my energy levels. I hate working out but during my lunch breaks I try to squeeze in some walking.
Also, I hope you find a good doctor/obgyn that listens to you, and hears out your concerns!

Thanks for sharing your story, I feel so much better about sharing mine with you too. Felt like I've been holding onto that for so long.
