I’m not there yet but getting my feelers out. Conceived 1st child about 3 years ago immediately with no issues. Actively trying to conceive second child and nothing for nearly 6 months.

If money wasn’t an issue when would you start looking into it and what would you do? My periods are pretty regular 26-28 days normally and I had a C-section with my firstborn if that means anything :(

I’m just wondering about it all really. I know we would get no nhs help for second child so not even thinking of that.

@Barleysugar86 whats the nhs testing ? I didn’t think they had infertility testing ? It would be great if they did but don’t think they’d see me as i already have a child. Yep, im definitely stressed about not conceiving which doesn’t help. I think if i had past experiences of taking a few months to conceive i would be feeling more ok, but the fact that I’ve had 4x pregnancies and fallen first try each of them worries me. (Last was a missed miscarriage in November + c section scar from 4 years ago but told on the scan everything looks fine). I can’t imagine waiting 12 months 😞 . Hoping the HyCosy will rule out one of the causes for infertility (blocked tubes). I didn’t know you have a higher chance of conceiving after the procedure until today. Here’s me wishful thinking 🙃

They do!! They just don’t do ivf for number two. At ten months my gp sent me for a blood test and dh semen analysis. Blood test showed I was ovulating and dh was fine. A month or so later finally referred to fertility clinic. More blood tests, internal scan and then a hycosy. Only step after that is ivf which you then sort out yourself. It can be v slow but if you have time on your hands then you might as well get them all for free!

@BiscuitLover3678 This popped up as a thread I was on! I sometimes wonder how you and Mrs Grealish are getting on. Wishing you all the best for your IVF, hopefully you get your second little one soon.

@BiscuitLover3678 yes luckily my last BFP finally turned into a sticky bean and I’m now 38 weeks pregnant (not sure where time has gone?!) Feeling very fortunate and hoping you have similar luck soon!

Oh my goodness that’s amazing! I had no idea! What month did you end up conceiving?

@BiscuitLover3678 I conceived last August which was our 12th month of trying! It was just as I was offered a new job so I think it was that typical thing of relaxing.

@Charl881 aww so pleased to see your name pop up. I've had a shit time. I seem to conceive ok but have had chemical after chemical and this month I decided to be happy with my lot and move on. I'm not over it yet. But I will get there. Honestly was making me ill the amount of times I got a positive that disappeared shortly before a huge bleed. I don't know what's wrong. But I don't have it in me to go for tests and DH isn't keen.

38 weeks so exciting! Do you know what you're having? All the very best of luck with the birth 😘

@BiscuitLover3678 I hope ivf goes well 😊 ❤️❤️❤️

So nice to see you message again too! I’m so sorry for everything you’ve been through. I really hope you’re ok. ❤️

@MrsJGrealish So sorry to hear you’ve gone through a tough time! I can imagine how draining it is, I definitely didn’t get excited this time around as I was convinced it would be yet another chemical, seemingly no reason why this one worked but the others didn’t. Especially difficult if your DH is more at terms with it.

We’re having another boy, I’m getting impatient now! But definitely counting my blessings.

MrsJGrealish · 15/04/2023 11:02

@Charl881 @BiscuitLover3678 it's been hard. I'm a good bit older than you two so I'm pretty sure ivf wouldn't work. DH has been good. I've had wee moments of crying so he just hugs me till I snap out of it.

Can't believe all those years ago we started a thread ❤️ @Charl881 2 boys 💙💙

@BiscuitLover3678 really hope you get your miracle lovely 🥰 I've actually changed my name. Grealish and me are done 😂 but saw your post and changed back briefly

Think I'll book a few holidays 😘
