am taking the mini pill - micronor, but am a week late which is unusual for me, and my boobs are SO sore! have taken it absolutely religiously, could i really be pregnant, too scared to test. i know statistically there's a risk but have any real people been caught out on the pill?

I'm hoping I'm not pushing my luck posting this but no I've used in on and off for nearly ten years without getting pregnant unintentionally - but - when I've wanted to ttc and stopped it I've got pregnant pretty much instantly. Have you had a vomiting bug- or antibiotics?

amytheearwaxbanisher · 08/01/2008 23:18

yes i have i took it religiously too,was late mild spotting which i mistook for period for four months!must add i was very irregular missed monthes on end before i went on the pill so just thought i was finally settling down due to pillyou are probably just late but best to test oh i think the pill i was on was called yasmin or someting like that

no bugs or anything i can think of. dp - who i haven't told yet- casually mentioned he'd dreamt i had another baby, which has really freaked me out!!

Oh that's...interesting...my best friend dreamt I was pregnant - a week later I was on the phone sharing our news...maybe you should get a test tomorrow.

I was on the mini pill, also took it religiously... then realised I was a week or so late... was preg. now about to celebrate my DD's 1st birthday, tomorrow!!

sorry if not what you wanted to hear... erm, also, the overwhelming symptom i felt in that week was really painful sore boobs.

do a test tomorrow... only way to know for sure, and either put your mind at rest, or confirm it... sorry not much more help.

don't want to scare you but I was also on the mini-pill and am 4 months pregnant. Still, chances are you are not if you took it religiously. My doctor said the minipill is tricy if you don't take it the same time everyday (which I did not).

herbidacious · 09/01/2008 09:52

not sure how i feel about it, think i just want to know that i'm not the only one. have 2 dd's and 1 ds already and not sure i can cope with 4. plus, think dp will assume it's my fault!

I was worried about that too. Tell dh about your thread and I counted at least 2 of us in the same boat. My dh wants to sue! He is kidding, I think.

susiecutiemincepies · 10/01/2008 12:47

My DH also talked about suing! I had taken it religiously and always at the same time of day. My GP told me we just really unlucky. As its not 100% fail safe, I guess, the statistics are there, for some that it wont work for IYSWIM? I'd taken the pill for god knows how many years, and dont have a huge brood of children around me, so it had worked all those years.
Isobel is just gorgeous and i'd not change her for all the world, so it was a lucky 'accident' and a fortunate failure!

Let us know hey, if you are ?
