Hi all - I’m around 5+2 by ovulation date and like everyone feeling anxious and hating the wait until the first scan. I have been reluctant to book an early scan this pregnancy because that backfired with my first when they initially didn’t see anything, we’re worried about ectopic, and I ended up having to have several more scans to make sure everything was progressing as it should. So as I’ve been feeling particularly anxious the last couple of days I didn’t to see the classic trick of seeing whether there’s been any progression from my first few tests (I know, this way madness lies) and this has also back fired as it’s quite a bit lighter than the test I did last weekend. Photo top to bottom is - 11 dpo, 13 dpo, 18 dpo then today (23 dpo) first wee at 4 when I was up with my son and then second wee when I got up at 6:30 (which is weirdly a bit darker than the previous one). I am now worrying myself that my HCG levels are falling. I will test again in 48 hours with a clear blue digital that I have left and if that doesn’t show progression from last weekend will get myself to the EPU, but wondered in the meantime if anyone had any similar experiences. Thanks in advance!

Take a break and step away from the tests 🤦‍♀️ you’re going to drive yourself insane

@Fupoffyagrasshole I know, don’t know why I ever stepped near it this morning!

Easier said than done I know!! 😭

These are all nice strong lines, please step away from the tests.

A variety of factors can affect now dark the line is. Some women even have darker lines when it's not fmu (I did). I'd say unless it was going to a squinter then not to worry and try relax (I know that's faaaar easier said than done)

Just in case anyone comes across this, unfortunately it was bad news for me - I started miscarrying the day after I took the two further, lighter tests. I think sometimes you just know when something isn’t right (though equally as an anxious person I know sometimes it is just anxiety). Not the outcome I wanted but trying to be hopeful about the future
