Bizarre period

claireday03 · 13/04/2022 12:04

Dear all, I have very regular periods between 29-32 days. This month mg period came on day 31 but it doesn't feel like a normal period it feels like the very first/last day of a period and nothing more. Has anyone else experienced this and if so do you know the cause/what happened? Thanks. PS should say that dp and I have been trying to conceive.

It's a possibility you're pregnant and could be implantation bleeding? Mine was like light spotting for a couple of days

claireday03 · 13/04/2022 12:26

@AcceptYourself thanks for your comment. I guess there is a possibility. My "period" started on Monday and it's still at that early stage would that be implantation bleeding?

AcceptYourself · 13/04/2022 12:39

Yes definitely possible - mine was around the time my period was due. I guess the only thing you can do is wait and see... good luck Smile

claireday03 · 13/04/2022 13:03

@AcceptYourself absolutely. If it doesn't get heavier and just stops I will take a test. Only time will tell.

Same is happening to me. A bit of blood yesterday and today but only when I wipe and not enough to need to use a tampon

claireday03 · 13/04/2022 13:59

@Fabpinky are you trying to conceive? This whole process really messes with your mind at times. I'm using a tampon as I just worry it'll become heavier at any point but it's kind of a waste atm. We will have to wait and see. Good luck if you are trying.

Fabpinky · 13/04/2022 14:02

Not actively trying to conceive but would be pleased if we did. I put a tampon in this morning because I thought surely this is just my period now but when I removed it I could see it hadn’t been needed. Good luck to you too!

This happened to me when I fell pregnant with DD, my periods were all over the place so I just assumed it was that, next month I never got a period at all and found out I what I thought was a period the month before was actually implantation bleeding.

claireday03 · 13/04/2022 14:08

@yellowwellingtons this is lovely. So you never did a test just to make sure?

claireday03 · 13/04/2022 14:08

@Fabpinky will you do a test or just wait until next month and see if your period returns to normal?

HippeePrincess · 13/04/2022 14:10

I’d take a test, I had heavy spotting with all my pregnancies around the time my period was due.

Fabpinky · 13/04/2022 14:11

If I don’t get what I would consider a proper period by maybe Monday I’ll do a test. Will you do one?

claireday03 · 13/04/2022 14:14

@Fabpinky I don't know. I've been trying for quite a while now so don't hold much hope anymore. I hate being disappointed. It's a tough one

OP posts:
Fabpinky · 13/04/2022 14:17

I’m sorry, it must be tough. I know I’ve resisted doing them before because I wanted to live in the limbo of hope that my period wouldn’t come and a test would burst my bubble.

claireday03 · 13/04/2022 14:58

@Fabpinky absolutely. Great way to put it. Don't want to burst the bubble of hope - totally! We will see.

@Fabpinky did you get all the signs of your period arriving or did spotting just happen without the usual period symptoms?

OP posts:
Fabpinky · 13/04/2022 17:11

I don’t generally get too many symptoms in the lead up to my period so it’s hard to say but I have had a few things I would usually put down as period symptoms. Have you? I’m half convinced my cycle is just extending as my period was 5 days late last month, but no spotting that time. It’s all very confusing! I may do a test tomorrow to put my mind at ease as it’s all I can think about

claireday03 · 13/04/2022 17:28

@Fabpinky I have the odd cramps but not as bad as it has been. Let me know what the result is if you do test. Hope it's what you want.

At the time no, we'd been trying, stressing, religiously testing every month for a year so we had decided to stop worrying and just relax a little. Amazingly we conceived that month but I never found out until I was almost 9 weeks and never thought anything of the odd bleed because my periods were always a bit unpredictable anyway. Good luck to you Smile

claireday03 · 14/04/2022 08:22

@yellowwellingtons that's lovely. Overnight there was a tiny bit more blood but nothing to report about so maybe I've just had a very light cycle this month. I guess it happens.

I'd probably have to test if I was you just to make sure, I can completely understand not wanting to yet though

Fabpinky · 14/04/2022 09:51

I’m not going to test as I woke up with a lot more blood than the last few days and cramps. (I don’t
mind so no sympathy needed!) how are you getting on?

claireday03 · 14/04/2022 10:08

@Fabpinky I'm so sorry to hear that. I think I might be joining you with not testing. I just have a feeling.

Fabpinky · 14/04/2022 10:10

No honestly no need! Let me know what happens with you!
