Positive test……

Hi.

I maybe a bit paranoid after my miscarriage in October last year, took a while to recover inside and out.

My periods have been somewhat regular, ranging from 21 day’s to 29 day’s.

So after having some symptoms the last week or so I tested today, no idea on dpo as I don’t track but my period is due in 2 day’s.

No doubt about it is positive but I’m just wondering why the line is darker than the control line?

Could I be further along than 3 weeks 4 day’s?

I was very sick last week with COVID, I definitely got it worse than everyone I knew and I’m now putting than down to being pregnant.

I shall be getting in contact with the doctors tomorrow but do you think I should go straight to my previous midwife to arrange a scan, kind of thinking the worst and I’d want to know sooner rather than later how far along I am.

Sorry for the long post. All sorts of emotions flying around.

@Beaubaby I would say you are further along by the darkness of the test! I didn't get one like that on a cheapie until about 7 weeks!! You can go buy a clear blue weeks indicator? They will tell you roughly? If you are 4 weeks it would say 1-2 as it goes from conception! 5 weeks it would say 2-3 and 6 weeks 3+ but it's only a rough guide! X

Congratulations also!!!! I'm sorry about your Mc, I had a MC And I was devastated, it took me a year to become pregnant again and I was so so wracked with worry it took the excitement out of being pregnant again x

@Moosh18
Thank you for your reply.
I did the test this morning, not FMU and after having a coffee and multiple bathroom trips Confused so I was very surprised to see this show up immediately, didn’t have to wait at all.

I stopped testing last month as I was driving myself crazy looking for lines that weren’t there.

My last period was very light but that’s not unusual since coming off the iud last year. So it could be possible that that wasn’t a period?

I’ve just been out to get a clear blue digital so I’ll wait until the morning to take that.

I know what you mean, trying so hard not to get carried away, I’m not getting any pregnancy apps until I’m sure everything is ok, this is my 3rd loss over a number of years ( I have 2 teenagers ) and by far the last one hurt the most.

Deep breath and relax. Smile

@Beaubaby I feel you, I have a 15 year old, we had an early loss and then a MC the MC Happened on my birthday, and it hit me so so hard, it took us EXACTLY one year again I found out one year to the day we lost our baby! So on my birthday again! What are the chances!

I don't think you need to wait for FMU!!! With the strength of that test it will show immediately! X

babyjellyfish · 13/04/2022 10:33

I wouldn't bother to wait to take the digital, just take it now.

I think it's very possible that you are further along than you think and your first period wasn't actually a period.

Take the digital, see what it says, and if you get 3+, try and book in for an early scan.

Beaubaby · 13/04/2022 10:35

@Moosh18
I actually had a mmc. I found out at my what I thought was 11 week scan that my baby had stopped growing at 9 weeks and there wasn’t a heartbeat at which when back dated was exactly my birthday too.

I tried to find something I did to blame myself further, I wasn’t in a good place for a while.
I had to have surgery as 2 weeks later my body still hadn’t registered that I’d had a miscarriage and was continuing on as though I was pregnant.

I think deep down I knew something wasn’t right, I just had a feeling.

I’ll test in the morning, I’ve had a huge bottle of water as I’m insanely thirsty and I really want accurate results or I’ll be back at the supermarket buying another test. Grin

@Beaubaby haha aww thank you! She's here now! Nearly one! We are trying again like fools! It took us two years for her so getting a head start as we are both late 30s now!

Please keep me posted sending you all the luck! X

Beaubaby · 13/04/2022 10:59

@Moosh18

Same here, late 30’s and I feel my body is definitely slowing down.

I’ll update in the morning. Smile

@babyjellyfish

Morning update. The test is showing 2-3 weeks.

I’m thinking I must have ovulated right before my last period ended, so ovulated on cycle day 6/7.
Looking back 3 weeks that’s
where that brings it too.

Or I’m right on track and ovulated 2 weeks ago, so 4 weeks pregnant tomorrow.

I’m confused how I’d calculate that now?
4 weeks tomorrow by my dates of my last period?

I guess only a scan can give the exact dates.

The first day from your last period is how you should calculate x

Moosh18 · 13/04/2022 21:12

@Beaubaby the day I turned four weeks pregnant so my due date basically the digital showed 2-4 for me! You've got a strong line there and a confirmation from a digital! It all looks so promising for you! If it helps you go for an early scan privately that's what we did xx
