CLOMID REGULAR IN NEED OF ADVICE!!!!

Kerri1983 · 08/01/2008 20:29

I have been on clomid now for 4 cycles but this month is different, I usually have a full AF very noticable for about 5 days but this month I have had very very very light in fact if you weren't looking out for it you would probably not even notice. Any suggestions on what I should do as I have not yet taken my Clomid for days 2-5 as I wasn't sure. Help please x

You need to do a pregnancy test pronto my dear

Kerri1983 · 08/01/2008 20:34

I did one just before and it was a BFN, do you think I should try again in the morning??? x

Yes. Do NOT start your Clomid again if you haven't had a period. If it hasn't come in another day or so go see the GP. You could well be in the early stages of pregnancy - when was your last real period?

I am cycle day 38 now, I speak to the nurses at the hospital quite often for my blood tests etc so I will give them a call tomorrow and ask them what I should do. Thanks for replying, I was starting to worry and didn't want to ring the hospital incase they thought I was stupid.

They won't think you are stupid in any way. What would be stupid would be to ignore the absence of a period. If you are on day 38, well it depends entirely when you ovulated. What's your normal cycle length. Normally people ovulate about 10 days before then - and implantation can take up to seven days from then - which means - quite a lot of the time, it takes till five days post normal period day to get a positive HCG test.

I had no cycles at all before taking Clomid due to PCOS, and then my cycles vary between 30-39 days but I have never experienced this before although I do have some period pains. I think I will do a test in the morning and see how that goes and then ring the hospital.

Never feel silly about ringing these people, you are part of a team.

I would not necessarily worry about the lightness of the period but it may be that this could be an anovulatory cycle.

Are you being monitored whilst on clomid?. What dosage are you on?.

Did the last two cycles on this produce ovulation?. Clomid should be given to PCOSers with a degree of caution so monitoring should be done. Ovulation is not an exact science and people can ovulate earlier, later or not at all in any given cycle.

Would not do a repeat test as you've had a neg result already unless you are advised by the hospital otherwise. You need to talk to them in any event.

Let us know how you get on

BTW www.verity-pcos.org.uk is a very good website for PCOSers.

Did you call? What did they say Kerri?

Kerri1983 · 09/01/2008 20:54

Didn't call hospital as full af arrived today, back on clomid tomorrow. I am on 100g and have blood tests 21 and 28 days.
