BBT Thermometer Recommendations

I'm looking at purchasing a thermometer to do BBT as of this cycle. Can anyone recommend one? I've been looking at the easy at home one on Amazon so far and the reviews seem ok.

If anyone has one please let me know which one you have, don't want one super expensive but just one that's accurate!

I used my femometer one from amazon for like £10 for 18 months without a problem! Don't use any of the accompanying apps though - stick to fertility friend for the tracking part.

Did you find it helped for TTC @Juno231?! I'm just wondering whether to do BBT instead of OPK testing or whether I'd still need to do both 🤔

@allthingssparkly it depends on how regular your cycles are already and how often you do the deed? If you are happy to have sex every other day between CD10-CD20 in a 28 day cycle then you won't need OPKs or BBT really.

If you have irregular cycles then definitely use BBT to confirm when you're ovulating.

OPKs are necessary if you don't have sex every other day anyway - as BBT will only confirm ovulation after the fact but you need to have sex in the run up to ovulation in order to conceive. So by the time BBT says you've ovulated it's too late.

@Juno231 My cycles are regular but not the same each cycle so for example between Feb and March my cycle length was 35 days and between March and April it was 27 days.

So maybe to cover all bases I'm best of doing BBT and OPK testing as we aren't consistent in having sex every other day during my cycle.

@allthingssparkly certainly sounds like a BBT/opk combo could help!

@allthingssparkly the opks will tell you when to start as it's based on your cycle length. BBT I'd say start the very first morning you can! Just remember to be consistent with when you temp.

On the odd day where you temp earlier or later you can use a bbt temp adjuster online :)
