Period due 12/4 - when can I test with frer ?

I think today is too early ? But when could I actually test and get an accurate result?

I don’t want to waste tests testing too early or potentially get a false negative ?

If anyone has used these what day are they accurate from ?
Thankyou !

Way too early but I am a shit fir testing early haha. The chances of getting a true result at this point are really low and will just lead to anxiety (am saying this to you but really telling myself hahaha)

Maybebabyno2 · 07/04/2022 09:19

Try and wait till 12th, they say the results are most accurate a week after your missed period.

BobbleHatAndtea · 07/04/2022 09:33

So even though they say from 6 days early they aren’t that accurate ??! I’m desperate to test but don’t want to waste tests of there really no chance of an accurate result

Would Sunday be too early even I just don’t think I have the willpower to wait to Tuesday !!!

You can test today but make sure it's a 4 hour hold at least. They are only 70% accurate this early though I think, depending on which test you use

It's more about your luteal phase rather than how many days before your period is due. You need to really wait at least 9 days at the earliest after ovulation if you know when that was, but the longer you wait the more reliable so the less you will doubt that any negatives are possibly incorrect. I got a bfp on day 9/10dpo but it was the most sensitive 6 days earlier type test and it was faint so not convinced I would have seen anything any earlier although my luteal phase is very short so in theory '6 days before missed period' would have been 4 days post ovulation which of course would never show as anything as it's far too early. These '6 days before' type tests can be misleading in that sense as we all have different luteal phases

BobbleHatAndtea · 07/04/2022 14:02

My luteal phase is 14 days

@BobbleHatAndtea I am 8/9 dpo and did a FRER this morning and it was negative. I would say try to wait until 10 days past ovulation (dpo) at least - do you know when you ovulated?

I'm due my period on 12/4 too and have a 28/29 day cycle.

Even if you have a 28 day cycle for e.g., sometimes you can ovulate a bit later & then your luteal phase is shorter. Mine tends to be 12/13 days.

I didn't get my bfp until the evening of 11dpo confirmed by a frer at 12dpo. If you're wanting to test early/every day I wouldn't waste a frer. I found easy@home tests from amazon really good they worked pretty much the same as frers for me.

Oh I have a few ‘one step’ hcg tests maybe they would work ? Tomorrow id be 10dpo I’ll try to drink less 🤣 and test in the morning. I’m terrible for drinking water at night so I’ll try not to so it’s not too diluted !

@BobbleHatAndtea I done those one step ones aswell and I found they were awful. I got a very faint positive when I was getting clear positives on easy@home and frer. Easy@home are like £10 for 20 I think but so worth it and cheaper than 2 frers

BobbleHatAndtea · 07/04/2022 16:16

I will get some easy at home ones then I think !

Sorry to jump on ladies but I'm wondering do FRER work or? I had a BFN this afternoon with one. But yesterday had a easy @home BFP in the morning. I'm due today, hasn't arrived yet but getting all the niggly feelings like I'm going too. Any help would be great. Thanks ladies. Going out of my mind here x

Sorry to jump in but I’m looking for some help/advice
I’ve been using an ovulation app for the past 3 months and my cycles have been between 21 and 27 days. Today I’m currently cycle day 31 and I think I’m 12 DPO my period hasn’t arrived yet but every test I’ve done the past few days have been BFN. I’m at a loss as to what to do or think, I’m trying not to stress but can’t help it. I’ve added a picture of what my app says today
thanks in advance

How late are you? It could be that it's too early and not showing? X

becca16786 · 26/04/2022 21:17

According to the app my period is 1 day late but it also says my predicted period date which would be day 1 of my next cycle is Friday 29th April. I’m so confused haha

PeanuttyButter · 27/04/2022 09:19

@becca16786 pregnancy tests can be stark white one day and positive the next. If you test again with a sensitive test the result might be different from yesterday
