Hi everyone!,

I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself, me and my husband have been ttc for many years now. Unfortunately we've had a few chemicals along the way and 1 miscarriage. I'm currently on cycle day 8 and we are trying the ferti-lily conception cup for the first time this cycle. Has/is anyone trying/tried this and had any success?

Hi @Hopingforababy2022!

Just out of interest, you mention several losses, have you ever had any tests done?

Me and my partner started ttc last June, since had a MMC and chemical. The whole process I find very stressful.

I have never used the fertility cup but will always welcome trying something new! Just had a read on Google and sounds promising.

I’m on cycle day 5, expecting ovulation around Easter weekend. How have you been tracking ovulation?

Hopingforababy2022 · 05/04/2022 19:28

Hi @Lifeafterloss22,

Unfortunately I haven't had any tests done, my gp surgery is pretty dismissive of chemicals.

I had to fight just to get basic bloods for myself and a semen analysis for my husband Hmm.

I'm really sorry to hear about your losses it's a heartbreaking experience.

I'm due to ovulate around the 13th, I track using natural cycles app, bbt and use easy at home ovulation tests.

I'm quite intrigued about the fertility cup as it has good reviews and at this point I will try anything! 😂

So sorry to hear of your losses too - it’s horrible how they disregard chemicals.

Yes the reviews look good! I’m with you on that desperate to try anything 😂 I ordered some of the conceive plus fertility lubricant for this cycle after also reading good reviews.

Thank you, it's crazy the things we will do or try to get pregnant after years of preventing isn't it.

I use preseed mainly due to liking the applicators that come with it.

My hubby has low sperm count and 26% motility so I want to give the little swimmers as much help as possible 😂

Hi! Following this, I have bought one but not used it yet. Interested to hear what otbers have to say x

Hopingforababy2022 · 05/04/2022 21:00

Hi @RMS0209!,

I used it for the first time last night just to get a feel for it ready for ovulation week. I will warn you it's a little fiddly to get in and out Blush you may want to have a practice run before you are ready to use it x

Lifeafterloss22 · 05/04/2022 21:43

@Hopingforababy2022 I swear the only thing they taught me at school is you will get pregnant imminently 😂😂 not quite that simple after all!

Hopingforababy2022 · 05/04/2022 21:45

@Lifeafterloss22 they make it seem so easy! If only that was true we wouldn't have to do a million and one things to be successful

Lifeafterloss22 · 05/04/2022 21:47

@Hopingforababy2022 The lengths we will go too. How long do you leave the cup in afterwards? X

Hopingforababy2022 · 05/04/2022 21:50

@Lifeafterloss22 it is recommended to leave in for a minimum of 20 minutes but no longer than an hour. I think during ovulation time I will do the full hour and if I use it any other time during my cycle probably half an hour x

@Hopingforababy2022 thanks so much for telling me!
tomorrow is CD8 and attempting SMEP (or some home made version of it...) so I might not get to try in my fertile week but I can try one day in the TWW to fill in some time I hope ha ha.

Was it ok though? X

Hopingforababy2022 · 05/04/2022 22:07

@RMS0209 I did experience some minor cramps afterwards but nothing bad. I think the worst part for me was trying to put it in and figuring out how to get it out 😂.

I'm on CD9 today we're pretty close although my cycles vary between 26-30 days x

RMS0209 · 05/04/2022 22:20

@Hopingforababy2022 yay cycle buddies!

that's what's getting me, the thought of trying to get it in and the messy trying to get it out after.

My cycles vary 28:32 days x

Hopingforababy2022 · 05/04/2022 22:27

@RMS0209 the getting it in isn't too bad it's making sure it's in correctly which I found the worst.

Best advice I can give is try to take it out over the loo, bath or shower to minimise mess 🙈 x

@Hopingforababy2022 yep you've made me decide it's an activity for after fertile week this month.
Sending us both lots of luck for this cycle.
Using my Ovusense for the first time tonight so hopefully that brings some luck 🍀 🤞🏻😁 x

Hopingforababy2022 · 05/04/2022 22:58

@RMS0209 thank you! Lots of luck to you also. Is the ovusense the one that's egg shaped and used internally?

I use natural cycles app and bbt thermometer it's my first month trying it, I used to use any bbt thermometer and fertility friend but due to my bad sleep patterns it was difficult to pinpoint at times x

@RMS0209 @Hopingforababy2022 how are you getting on ladies?

Hopingforababy2022 · 11/04/2022 18:23

@Lifeafterloss22 I'm currently 2DPO and have got tender boobs which never usually happens this early. That being said I never usually ovulate on day 13 either and I have this month 🙄. How are you getting on? X

OP posts:
Lifeafterloss22 · 11/04/2022 18:56

@Hopingforababy2022 did you manage to use the fertility cup through your fertile period?
I’m only CD11, feels a long month already 😂. Going to start testing tomorrow as my ovulation has been day 17 & 18 the last few months. X

Hopingforababy2022 · 11/04/2022 18:58

@Lifeafterloss22 I managed to use it 3 times which I guess it's a good job I was attempting a trial run as turns out the trial run was during my fertile period 😂. I'm on day 15 now and 11 more days until I find out if the wicked witch is on her way x

@Lifeafterloss22 @Hopingforababy2022
morning ladies! all good here, CD14 today... no peak on OPK's yet and temps semi steady on Ovusense.
have been dancing every 2nd day...will again tonight to have fresh "swimmers" just incase.

Jealous of you both being able to use the ferticup I need to try just scared GrinSmile beginning to feel like it's too late to close to O to try mess everything.

Good luck with the TWW... praying witchy leaves us all alone this month x

Hopingforababy2022 · 13/04/2022 17:59

@RMS0209 I'm now 4 or 5dpo and symptom spotting like no tomorrow 🙈. The last day I actually used the ferti-lily cup was my ovulation day unbeknownst to me and I kid you not I couldn't get it out it got suckered to my cervix I had to get hubby get it out 😳 genuinely thought I was going to need to visit A&E I'd have been so embarrassed x

OP posts:
RMS0209 · 13/04/2022 19:26

@Hopingforababy2022
Yay DPO! CD15 for me, no peak yet.. hopefully next few days Smile

I am so sorry I don't mean to laugh but I did laugh out loud reading it, I definitely don't think I will be using it in the next few fertile days then. Ha ha. X
Hope this has been your lucky cycle x

Hopingforababy2022 · 13/04/2022 19:35

@RMS0209 it's ok I laughed after we'd got it out myself. Hoping because it was stuck to my cervix it pushed the swimmers up there 😂 x

You will be buying shares in Fetrtiliy this month now if you were successful!
