First natural period?

Hi ladies

Wondering if anyone can advise?

I stopped my combined pill on the 16th of this month and my withdrawal bleed started on the 19th and was the standard 4-5 days. Ive had no bleeding since until today where I've started spotting brown blood.. I read that after your withdrawal bleed your normal period will come back the following month so in theory you have technically a full cycle before your 'natural' period comes back but I'm only what would be CD13-14ish, so wasn't expected it to come so quick. I mean I'm guessing if it is then it's a good thing as I can start from fresh and track this cycle properly but just a little confused ?? Had negative OPKs except for one strongish line the day after my withdrawal bleed but just wrote it off as taking it at the wrong time (it was SMU)

Does any have any opinions or advise? Do you think it's just my first natural AF?

Thank you 🙂

What is your normal flow like before you were on the pill? I'd say if your spotting brown blood it's old so i wouldn't class it as a period unless it gets any heavier. Spotting can happen at any time of the month sometimes for no reason. I stopped my pill on the 28th feb and I'm yet to have any type of bleed apart from 2 spots of light pink on 2 consecutive nights during my nightshifts last week 😞 I got so excited for my period to be back so I can track to ttc but I'm stuck in limbo!

@Finalbaby oh really, nothing at all? Did you take you're pill without any breaks? I did read breakthrough bleeding can take 2-4weeks? My breakthrough bleed came within a couple of days and was the same kind of bleed I would get when I stop my pill for the 7 day break between packs.

My periods prior to the pill were 'normal' 4-5 days of normal flow quite regular cycles. I had been back on the pill for about a year.

Have you been doing any OPKs or anything do you know if you've ovulated at all?

x

Yeah nothing at all it's really frustrating I've had period symptoms, back aches, cramps, emotional etc just no bleeding! I was on the mini pill so I didn't take breaks but I missed 3 in January by mistake and I immediately started bleeding lightly so I just don't understand what's going on. I'd only been on it since December to take a break from ttc after an early mc. I'd definitely say you're still half way through your cycle. I've been doing opks the last couple of days but totally negative x

@Finalbaby It is frustrating! I wish I'd never gone back on the pill tbh, when I was TTC my son I stopped the pill a year before so I don't remember any of this happening 🙈

I'm not sure what the difference between the combined and mini pill is? I thought the mini pill just stopped your periods and not ovulation? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere it takes longer for your periods to return with the mini pill, have you done any research on Google or anything?

I've had no more bleeding yet but it definitely feels like my period is coming, lots of cramps headaches and lots of lower back pain.

Will keep doing my OPKs unless the bleeding gets heavier before then.

Do you take any vitamins or anything yet to try and regulate your hormones?

All advice on Google suggests the same for combined and mini pill that periods may not return for up to 4 weeks but I've past that 😂 but I know it can take a few months for everything to settle. It's just really strange for me to not have a bleed at all I've been heavy and regular as clockwork since being 12,unless on contraception, and I'm now 30! I take a pregnancy supporting multivitamin and started omega 3. I've been looking into coq10 as I've heard good things about that. Are you taking anything? X

I'm 32 and feel the same, I've always had pretty regular cycles, standard 28ish days.. it's so annoying. Yeah I think even if I were to get my period now there's no guarantee my cycle will go as normal.. when TTC my son I used to ovulate around CD16-17 and id say I'm probably CD14/15 now, getting very faint lines on OPKs but nothing dark so I really have no idea. I keep feeling like my period has started then every time I go to the loo there's nothing, so strange. Although I have worked out that my period previously used to always fall around the end of each month so maybe my body is also thinking 'I'm sure I'm suppose to be having a period right about now' haha but it really is started to annoy me, negative OPKs and no period.. as you said you feel like your just in limbo.

Yeah I take pregnancy vitamins and omega 3, I also take a high dose of vitamin C and B6 and these are both supposed to regulate your hormones. I have thought about the Coq10 too, its supposed to improve egg health I believe? But think I'll just wait and see if my cycles level out properly, it's quite expensive too I think!

Well up date from me.. positive opk this morning and lots of EWCM yesterday and today.. suddenly out of nowhere my body's doing something! I'd been getting slightly consistent lines for a few days but very faint but today very positive and EWCM out of nowhere.. really hoping I am actually ovulating an not just getting all the signs!

That all sounds very positive, sounds like you need to get down to business! I had lots of ewcm Saturday night did an opk this morning line was more prominent but not positive so hoping things are moving for me too! Fingers crossed for us both we have a period or even better a bfp soon!
