Not long so @thislittlebird although I know it'll feel like forever. Did you manage to distract yourself this weekend at all?

Exciting stuff @beckyCarlos you'll be starting before you know it so 🤞🤞

If my lining is good tomorrow I think they'll get me to start progesterone wed/thu for transfer Tuesday after the bank holiday..... that's my best case scenario. Have a ton of EWCM and just so so paranoid about having a dominant follicle and ovulating.

Matildahoney · 24/07/2022 22:42

I've only just seen this thread, and very new to my journey, I wondered if anyone would mind giving me a little advice. I've had a blood test at day 5 which I'm not sure exactly what it was for, and another at day 21 which I believe is progesterone. My oh has had a basic sperm count done through his DRs. What can I expect or do I need to ask for next? TIA

thislittlebird · 25/07/2022 09:31

@beckyCarlos @Gracie2021 I'm just feeling....nothing. I feel like that's not a good sign, like if it had worked something would be different.

@beckyCarlos did you use an access package or anything like that for private?

thislittlebird · 25/07/2022 09:36

@Gracie2021 sorry, missed your other message. Not really, my brain is obsessed now and will be until I know the outcome.

If you have EWCM now it sounds like you'll ovulate in a few days?

@Matildahoney Hello and welcome. Day 5 is probably LH/FSH tests. They may well make a recommendation on the back of day 5 and day 21 results alone. Either a referral on elsewhere or not if you results are fine and depending on how long you've been trying. Some CCGs run further tests, but mine did not. Someone else here might have been offered others.

Hoping43 · 25/07/2022 10:37

@Matildahoney l was referred after day 3 blood tests with GP to fertility clinic where we had a multitude of other tests for them to then decide on unexplained infertility!

been back today for my day 21 scan and still no dominant follicle so looks like somethings really gone wrong for me on letrozole as I normally ovulate myself anyway! 🤯

Gracie2021 · 25/07/2022 11:34

So frustrating. Is this your first try at medicated cycles @Hoping43 or have you tried clomid yet?

How is your head today @thislittlebird? Has the headache eased at all? I don't want to blow smoke up your ass with random hope or anything so will just say tons of people are convinced it's worked for them and it turns out it hasn't and others are convinced it hasn't worked and have no symptoms and it has worked. Do what you have to do to get to the other side of this limbo whether that is managing expectations or clinging to hope or whatever it is. And we're here for the chats and the rants and whatever else you need in the meantime xx

Welcome @Matildahoney. This little bird is spot on with her advice Re the tests. Hope you get some answers soon.

Scan this morning went well....ish. Not sure what my average lining was but she measured three times and got 7,8, and 8mm and I could see a triple line so that's good. On the down side I have a dominant follicle again. This time 12mm so waiting on bloods and to hear back in the afternoon. The soonest they can start me on progesterone is wed for transfer Monday so if that's the case I'll just be flying through OPKs here trying to reassure myself that I don't ovulate in the meantime. Hoping at 12mm that I'd be safe enough for a couple days.

Hoping43 · 25/07/2022 11:42

Hi @Gracie2021 this is my first try. Haven’t tried clomid. Worries my eggs are just so rubbish that they can’t respond! Xx

Gracie2021 · 25/07/2022 11:47

I wouldn't get discouraged just yet @Hoping43 the first round of anything in infertility treatment tends to be a trial run to see what works for you. They'll be able to tweak treatment for you. Know it's frustrating in the moment but there's so much else they can try in terms of changing dosage/meds etc.

beckyCarlos · 25/07/2022 11:52

@thislittlebird no, on the advice of my consultant if this round doesn't work there won't be another with my eggs so it wasnt financially sensible (although with my stellar AFC it might be another story lol, I jest, mostly) but we're lucky to have savings my other halfs parents! If it helps, I didnt feel any different after my transfer (not even sore boobs!) So it seems quite hit and miss (although I'm aware I'm not the best case study 🤣)

Hi @matildahoney welcome :) my GP tests were part of my referral, then at my clinic you have a consultant appointment to discuss yours and your partners results (if you have a partner), with ours, if theres an obvious issue with sperm you go straight to IVF, but I had to have an AMH test which confirmed low ovarian reserve (they suspected anyway, but like to confirm to get deug doses right) which caused a wait, but then we were again straight to IVF. During all this I had a baseline scan (normal in any situation) which found a polyp so I also had that removed too x

thislittlebird · 25/07/2022 11:57

@Gracie2021 head is ok so far, which is good. The deflated boobs are less good :/

I know some people think it's worked and it hasn't or vice versa, but the lack of feeling anything whatsoever feels a lot like it will be another BFN.

Your lining sounds good! I feel confused by the dominant follicle, because I need to have one but with medicated they want to suppress ovulation, right? 12mm should give you 3ish days I would guess?

thislittlebird · 25/07/2022 12:00

@beckyCarlos Fingers crossed for this next round for you then, you had some success first time so no reason you won't again.

The thing is, I did have tender boobs and now I don't, so it feels like it's just my natural cycle doing its thing. Progesterone has dropped, AF would be on her way if not for the cyclogest.

Hoping43 · 25/07/2022 12:05

@Gracie2021 thank you! I think I’m just confused because I supposedly ovulate on my own so don’t know why the month I’ve taken letrozole, I haven’t 🤷🏼‍♀️

Gracie2021 · 25/07/2022 12:06

Was listening to a transfer podcast episode on the way to my app this morning @thislittlebird and one of the hosts was saying on both of her transfers (one positive and one negative) he boobs stopped hurting at day six.... oh I dunno. Just know I'm rooting for you!!!!!

Because I'm doing medicated the ideal is that my ovaries would be completely suppressed and therefore they could time the transfer exactly when they want it using progesterone. However having the dominant follicle means that I could ovulate before taking the progesterone which is what happened last time. Luckily because I asked to be scanned earlier this time we at least know what's happening and caught it at 12mm. On tenterhooks waiting to hear now til the afternoon. Don't trust them at all I'm afraid.

thislittlebird · 25/07/2022 12:32

@Gracie2021 which podcast was it? Maybe I need to listen!

I'm shitting it now tbh. I know I'm going to lose it in a big way if it's another BFN.

Yeah, I get that feeling. I wouldn't 't trust them either. Keep us posted. never heard again from my clinic, going to turn down the offer of a blood test at this stage, it's pointless.

beckyCarlos · 25/07/2022 13:04

@thislittlebird I cant believe they havent sorted their IT out yet! Ah sorry, I didnt realise about your boobs (what a sentence to type!) Still keeping you in my thoughts x

Gracie2021 · 25/07/2022 13:48

It's the BFN transfer episode @thislittlebird. Think it was Emma that said it. Thanks I'll keep ye posted on happenings here too.

Tinkerbell098 · 25/07/2022 13:49

@thislittlebird really rooting for you! Really hope this is your month! I wouldn't worry too much about not having symptoms as I've heard mixed things about it and everyone is different.

@beckyCarlos your AFC numbers look promising, so I'm very hopeful you'll get good numbers this time and hope you don't need to move to donor eggs. Hope the appointment today goes well. Would you get told your timelines then? Keep us posted X

@Gracie2021 glad it was caught at 12mm, you've still got a few days before it matures so fingers crossed you can get the transfer in next week.

@Hoping43 sorry lovely, I'm not sure what's happened with letrozole. But as others have said on here, first round is always trial and error and hope they can adjust the dosage for you. Are you having anymore scans?

thislittlebird · 25/07/2022 14:02

@Gracie2021 is it the one where she gets her BFP and was that bit at the end? Because that triggered me when I listened a long time ago. I found it really hard to hear someone having something amazing I can't have, which is stupid.

@beckyCarlos I've typed a lot worse on here, I'm sure lmao.

@Tinkerbell098 yeah, I'm just feeling like it's not happened. I dunno. My FRERs arrive today, I'll see how long I van tolerate this hell.

Gracie2021 · 25/07/2022 14:15

No it's the prep episode before Gabbys transfer. The whole episode is about transfer tips etc. there is Emma pregnancy stuff at the start that you'd need to skip through as it's before they moved it to the end. Tbh it's literally a one liner of her saying they stopped hurting at 6 days each time so don't think it's worth looking it up anyway @thislittlebird! Also not stupid at all, aren't most of us the same with any kind of announcement these days..... got hit with another one here this morning on social media and the bitterness was real... are you tempted to do a FRER before OTD?

Are you still waiting to hear about dates/buserilin @Tinkerbell098?

Missed your earlier message @beckyCarlos. Does that put a lot more pressure on this cycle? Hope you're doing ok that way. What time is your consult? Hope it goes well and you're happy with the proposed plan.

Tinkerbell098 · 25/07/2022 14:34

@Gracie2021 announcements are the worst! Especially from people who weren't even trying or the ones who got married way after us. I'm looking forward to when I can really genuinely be happy for others (other than you guys of course, because I know what we all have been through and how hard it's been - it's different when it's one of you girls) like a normal person. Yes, I'm still waiting to hear from the clinic regarding Buserelin. I have a needles lesson on Friday so I think I'll know more then. If I am to start, my first injection would be next Monday on cycle day 21, so can't see that happening really! If not, they were going to try and put me on a short protocol if they can slot me in, which they said was a little challenging logistically! So, still in limbo and it's so crap as I can't even plan a summer vacation. OH is turning 40 next month and we've always had planned to go away, but really can't plan anything due to the uncertainty.

@thislittlebird oh yey for FRERs arriving! Are you going to wait until OTD?

@Hoping43 I've seen the below thread on MN. May worth asking any of the girls on there as there maybe someone who could shed some light?

Omg guys I'm cleared for my first transfer on Monday. It's felt like this day would never come! Been doing IVF treatments almost non stop since January and 8 months of TSI before that. I'm almost in tears with relief here. I start progesterone Wednesday morning and my bloods are fine today so hopefully no chance for my body to f it up before then. Can't believe it.

thislittlebird · 25/07/2022 16:20

@Gracie2021 hmmm it's strange how it goes, that she'd have the same pattern and different outcomes.

Another announcement? Ugh. This reminds me why I avoid most social media, I can't deal with it.

I dunno tbh. Will see how the next day or two goes. I've now got a progesterone test tomorrow morning and I guess I'll go. Makes me feel like I'm doing something other than sitting and stressing.

@Tinkerbell098 still being in limbo is very annoying, especially if you can't make plans.

thislittlebird · 25/07/2022 16:21

@Gracie2021 that is very exciting! BLOODY FINALLY!

Tinkerbell098 · 25/07/2022 16:53

@Gracie2021 that's amazing! Really pleased for you X
