@Shewhobakes I’m 5dpo, 3rd cycle since MC. I know how you feel, I’m so desperate for it to happen

MrsRosaline · 17/04/2022 18:08

@LuckyMoonstone I am! I'm not sure what DPO I'm on as I ran out of OPKS but ovulation has deffo passed. Maybe 5/6DPO!

LuckyMoonstone · 17/04/2022 18:23

@MrsRosaline similar timings then! What day shall we start driving ourselves mad symptom spotting 😅

curliegirlie · 17/04/2022 18:51

I’m CD10 so probably still got about a week before ovulation. I’ve been doing OPKs out of curiosity, even though it’s early and I don’t think they have a linear progression do they? So I know they’re a bit pointless at this point in my (probably 30ish day) cycle. But it’s 4 years since I last did them so I’m just reminding myself of how it all works 🤪

Good luck everyone in the TWW…

peachiekeen · 17/04/2022 19:47

I'm roughly 8 ish days post ovulation but not sure exactly as I've been away but AF is due on Tuesday as I have a short luteal phase so don't ever really seem to reach 10 dpo. I hoped the holiday would keep the symptom spotting in check but it's been a cloudy slow day today so lots of time to overthink 🙈 I'm sure the plane journey will keep me busy tomorrow 🤞🏼

MrsRosaline · 17/04/2022 20:20

@LuckyMoonstone I'm already doing it!! 🤣

@curliegirlie I have found that you can see progression on OPKS! Or at least I did in 2017 when I conceived my daughter 😄

curliegirlie · 17/04/2022 20:55

@MrsRosaline I know you obviously get the darkening and then lightening again in the days around ov, but thought it was a bit random otherwise, but this time round I have the pre-mom app which might help me see the patterns more clearly 😁

MrsRosaline · 17/04/2022 21:07

@curliegirlie here are my ones from Aug/Sep last year. I think there's a bit of progression but yeah obviously one of the days does just get a lot darker!

I'm CD10 and last night woke up with period pain? I took maca for a few days last week and felt it prolonged my period so stopped, and now I'm worried it's really messed with my cycle and I'm about to have another bleed 🙈 annoying as I'd got to a point where my cycles were so regular.

AKM89 · 18/04/2022 10:39

Hi all - do you mind if I jump on the thread? I’m coming to the end of an early MC (around 6+1 today - or would have been) trying for our second. Been trying for around 4 months without success so really got our hopes up after the positive a few weeks ago. Feeling very fragile and thought it would be good to chat to people going through the same thing.

curliegirlie · 18/04/2022 11:33

@AKM89 So sorry, it’s shit isn’t it? My pregnancy was a complete surprise but after a few days of us getting our head around the idea I started bleeding and that was that (plus 3 weeks worth of positive tests). So now we’ve decided we will properly TTC but have to say I’m starting to get stressed about ovulation etc (with my first, I had about 6 months of anovulatory cycles, and although I’m now on thyroid meds and obviously the brief pregnancy last month shows I do ovulate, it plays on my mind - particularly the faff of slightly longer cycles and not really knowing when to expect O). My post MC cycle was 30 days, but no idea when/if I ovulated as I started tracking a bit late on. It’s just so frustrating that after this absolute shock and the potential new addition in November, I have no idea when/if things might fall into place again. It certainly won’t be as easy. Sorry for the whinge….

AKM89 · 18/04/2022 12:57

@curliegirlie Thanks, and no apologies necessary. Yeah I agree it’s the uncertainty of it all that is the hardest thing - constantly feeling like you’re in a state of not properly being able to plan anything. I feel really stupid because even though I am incredibly anxious and prepare for the worst this has still really taken me by surprise.

Frida9 · 18/04/2022 16:00

Can anyone here advise about when I should contact my GP about af not returning? I had my MC 5 weeks ago and no sign of af, did a pregnancy test last Thursday and bfn. Did a cheap ovulation test today out of curiosity and got a faint 2nd line but I really don't know if or when I've ovulated. We've been trying since the MC but no symptoms at all plus negative test makes me think things are just taking longer to get back to normal.

Sassy144 · 18/04/2022 16:30

@AKM89. So sorry, but of course you are welcome here 💛 it's a great space to support one another through this horrible experience.

@Frida9 it can take a little while for af to arrive after MC. I wouldn't be too worried as you're getting bfn so maybe see if it arrives by 6 weeks

LuckyMoonstone · 18/04/2022 19:52

@Frida9 if you’re not still getting MC bleeding, and your tests are negative, then I wouldn’t worry about it too much yet. I didn’t even ovulate until 6 weeks after MC, so AF was about 8 weeks. You may not have even ovulated yet.

buntywindermere · 18/04/2022 20:25

Hi ladies, I hope you are as ok as you can be in this minefield of life post miscarriage. I had a MMC earlier this year. Negative test the first week of March and AF arrived on 18th March. We haven't been ttc this cycle as I suffer with HG and I have wanted to let myself heal a bit, so I haven't done any ovulation testing. I usually ovulate around day 20. We dtd on day 23 and day 24, so if I ovulated on this day I'd be about 9dpo. Anyway I didn't think any of this mattered because I was so sure we dtd too late to catch it. I was just tidying this afternoon and found one test - a first response one. I did it before without really thinking much of it, just that it would show negative and I could wait for AF to arrive the end of this week without overthinking. However this happened.... I think it must be an indent perhaps? But it came up quickly and I got this photo taken within about 3 minutes. What do you all think? X

Lizm1990 · 18/04/2022 22:31

@buntywindermere lines look good! Tentative congratulations 😊 perhaps do a few more tests to see if the line gets darker over the next few days? I think the hormone hcg (I think) doubles every 2 days so I’ve read

buntywindermere · 19/04/2022 06:24

@Lizm1990 thanks - accepting cautiously! I'm in a fairly good headspace so whichever way it goes in the next week I will be ok. I spent all last night trawling forums about indents and I'm 99% sure that's what this is since I really think we dtd too late to catch it. Just wanted to see what you'd all think since you understand what it's like!!

Sassy144 · 19/04/2022 06:39

@buntywindermere looks like a line to me! 🤞

peachiekeen · 19/04/2022 07:35

Urgh so I landed yesterday and AF is due today. I wasn't gonna test but then suddenly realised I could come on at work while I'm teaching and didn't want to find out that way either. Anyways I caved and it's a BFN on a FRER. A bit disappointed as we were trying but not trying this month due to being away so no idea when I ovulated but was also quite hopeful that I was 'relaxing' and not thinking about it. Another month down onto the next one.

bunnykins123 · 19/04/2022 08:29

@peachiekeen I'm so sorry that you've had a bfn. It's so hard especially when you feel like you did everything right in your fertile period. Hopefully, it's just that you O'd a bit later 🤞

@buntywindermere I would defo retest over the next few days to see if it's a new pregnancy - fingers crossed for you!

@Frida9 I'm so sorry for your loss. I think the further along you were, the wonkier your periods will be for a while. I don't think 5 weeks sounds unusual but if you're concerned then defo reach out to your GP for some advice.

@curliegirlie how's your tests looking today? I'm now on CD10, I have about 30 day cycles too and have got a faint line which is fairly standard for me. My tests literally go from 0-100 in 1 day so I don't get progression 🙄

@Sassy144 I hope the bbq went well in the end. It's completely natural to feel that way. Fingers crossed this is your month. Strange about the period cramps, are you still taking maca? Maybe wean off that if you think it's making your cycle go wonky. Could it be O pain?

Sassy144 · 19/04/2022 09:35

@peachiekeen thank you lovely. I stopped taking the maca after a few days as my period was going on way longer than it normally does and wondered if that was the culprit. Turns out I think the pain was O, or leading up to ovulation anyway, yesterday I got a lot of ewcm which I v rarely get, and this morning a positive opk, fingers crossed it's a particularly juicy eggo causing all this aggro 😂🤞 how are you doing?

AKM89 · 19/04/2022 10:48

@buntywindermere I’d say that’s looking good!

What are people’s views on how soon to try again after a MC? Visited EPU this morning who said no sex whilst still bleeding (though presume I wouldn’t ovulate whilst bleeding anyway?).

bunnykins123 · 19/04/2022 11:20

@Sassy144 ooo that's exciting! I feel like O is a million years away still 🙄 I guess it could be maca or could just be cycles regulating again? My cycles are defo a bit funky since my miscarriages. Fingers crossed it's a juicey egg about to pop!

@AKM89 I would probably hold off until the bleeding has stopped at least. When I had my MMC, I was told by the consultant I can try as soon as I'm ready but I think everyone is different in how they feel post miscarriage.

Sassy144 · 19/04/2022 12:08

Sorry @bunnykins123 @peachiekeen for getting my tags mixed up - I'm still working with bank holiday brain!

@AKM89 I would wait until bleeding stops at least, I think you risk infection otherwise. But other than that just go with when you feel ready 💛
