Hi all 🥰

First cycle using OPK's TTC baby no 2. Never used them when TTC last time as it happened first cycle. Had my coil out in feb so started trying and just finished my first period recently and started using OPK's... confused though why is it all over the place? Shouldn't it be getting darker and stronger as suppose to ovulating in the next day or so according to app.

Thanks xx

Hi @TTCBABYNO2xx I think this is normal. Mine are always really low with V faint lines until sudden surge and peak out of nowhere. (I normally get a positive on CD14 but a bit out of sync atm).
Keep testing and maybe at various times of day to see when best for you? Good luck!

I just restarted using them too TTC#2, I was always told to test early afternoon-ish? I think it's something like you get your LH surge in the morning but doesn't show until later in the day? Someone correct me if I'm wrong! x

No, they don't get progressively darker in the same way that HCG does when you're pregnant.

The hormone LH fluctuates at a low level all the time, so you'll get varying levels of negative tests, followed by an unmistakeable positive that in my experience lasted two days, then immediately went back to the fluctuating negatives. For that reason, they're a great predictor but can only tell you at short notice; they can't tell you that you're approaching ovulation in a week's time.

I've had lots of experience with these as i've had 4 pregnancies and always conceived first time when i used them.

In my experience you can use them any time of day but shoud avoid first morning wee, as it's more likely to be concentrated and look darker than it really is. Also don't drink loads and loads water before hand so as to dilute it too much.

I used to stash one in my bra and take the test once I got to work!
