My period came a week early (never does this) was heavier than usual and had a few small clots. Can you miscarry so early ? Just a thought. We are TTC no 2
Thanks

You can have a failed implantation at an early stage. Most people never realise it's a miscarriage. You will normally not even get a faint positive though because it is the egg embedding in the wall of the uterus which causes the creation of HCG.

Small clots are no indication though - you can get small clots normally but if your period was much heavier than normal, it's entirely normal to have some clotting - there's a lot of blood trying to find it's way out.

Are you still bleeding? It may be worth just checking it out with the docs and doing a test - you need to rule out ectopic pregnancy just in case - it's a very low risk but you don't want to compromise your fertility by ignoring a potential problem.

If it was a failed implantation consider it a very good sign, your body is ready to make a baby and next month, you'll probably have more success.

I've had a miscarriage at four weeks and one at six and a half and the only real signs aside from pos tests were stunningly heavy bleeding and in the second one, bad cramps and feeling really wiped out.

That's interesting and helpful thanks. I conceived first time, first time around and am convinced it's going to be a long haul this time. ...need to have more sex anyway !!! Not still bleeding thankfully but have had quite an unusual month this month - usually very obvious when ovualating has I have a mucusy egg white discharge (sorry if TMI) but this month didn't get it although ovulation kit gave me a smiley face. A bit odd - I am very regular and very in tune with what is going on normally so felt all a bit different this month....

So you are saying you had a period early but then it stopped? Have you actually done a test. I had an implantation bleed with this pregnancy - which I never had before, and that was very early. You should probably test to be sure what is going on. I just felt 'different' the month before I found out I was expecting for the second time!

I am on the contraceptive implant so my periods are quiet irregular. I was 2 weeks late to when I thought I should’ve came on however as they are irregular, I thought nothing of this. I came on my period on Thursday, I had cramps which just felt like period cramps. Yesterday in my sanitary towel I found what looked like tissue, a dark purple / liver colour, slightly oval shape but not a perfect shape as such. This was probably around the size of the average woman’s tip of the thumb and also looked like it had some additional tissue wrapped round the middle of it which made the width of the middle thicker then the tip / end of whatever this may have been.

When I googled this i came across this being either a clot from my period, or a miss carriage. As I am new to the web page, it will not allow me to attach the image I have so the above is the best description I can give, hopefully it is enough! Can someone advise if they are aware of which this may be? And also would a doctor be able to confirm this if all I have is the photo? Thank you
