Hello,

I have been using internet cheapie tests since my last period at the end of January.

I think I ovulated very late (around early - mid march) I have tested twice weekly since then. I had a negative test last Monday 14th march, then a positive 17th march. This was still faint

Test today is very dark. Much Darker than I had with my daughter

Is it normal to be this dark at 4-5 weeks tops?

Yes, that's the result most people will see if they are testing without the whole ttc thing. I have no idea how far along I was with my first and it was like this within seconds. My sister said hers turned positive after she took the wrapper off (hyperbole obviously) congratulations.

There is only so much dye on the test to react with the hcg, after a certain point it won't get darker.

Great

With my first it never got this dark the last time I tested at 6-7 weeks

Maybe different batch of tests

I got quite different lines with all my pregnancies. I was so used to squinting to see any faint line that when I tested for DS2, I was shocked to see this thick pink line appear as soon as the moisture hit it. That would have been about 4 weeks.
