Late period negative test

Hi all,
I had a miscarriage from my first pregnancy, in early December at 12 weeks, (although a later scan showed a missed loss at 7 weeks 5 days). My period retuned in January and we’ve had 2 unsuccessful cycles. I’m currently on day 41 of my most recent cycle, my period is officially late 5 days and I have some symptoms I recognise from being pregnant last year, however when I tested on Saturday, it was negative.

I’m wondering if there’s a possibility that I ovulated late, the calculator showed a window of 28th of Feb-6th of March, which is a week later than I thought, where there is a possibility we could have conceived. How long would it take to show a positive test or for me to get my period, If I have ovulated later than usual?

Has anyone else had this? Almost like a phantom pregnancy? I don’t want to get my hopes up and waste more energy on taking tests that inevitably return with only one line.

Hi, yes it did come 2 days later. Looking back I think I had some light bleeding half way through that cycle so not sure if I had one long cycle with spotting or 2 shorter cycles.

Conceived in our May cycle though and currently 10+4 ❤

I know, it’s so frustrating and it’s really true that the more you stress about it the longer it takes but also impossible to just switch that off!

If it helps, the cycle we conceived was the first month we used the Premom app and ovulation strips which really helped me to get an idea of where I was at with my cycle and the best time to conceive.

I’ve been using Premom app and ovulation Kits and as per the app I ovulated on 17/07 which is why I’m not sure where my AF is 😂😅
I’m trying not to worry too much, but the weird thing is the day before last i was getting PMS symptoms so I was convinced I was waking upto AF yesterday, but nothing, and today again nothing? not even a tiny bit of spotting! x
