Vitamin D acts like a hormone rather than a vitamin in the body. It helps with so many processes and to be deficient can cause problems.

I haven't read up too much on it's link to fertility, but it is one vitamin that I always make sure that I am getting for my overall health.

My mum has MS and is on high dose prescription of vitamin D as MS symptoms have been linked to low levels of the vitamin.

It can't hurt you to take it, especially during the winter months when we don't get much sunlight

Yes most pregnancy vitamins include this so if you are taking separately make sure your not double dosing. 400 units or 10ug is the daily dose.

I'd say 10ug is quite low @LittleMsPerfect and would up it to 1-2000ug

@xosammyxo but yes vitamin d is important for conception and is recommended to be taken once pregnant too

@Juno231

Just wondered where you get your info from as 1000ug is the dose for if you have a defficiency of vitamin D.

If no deficiency the maintenance dose of vitamin D is 10ug/400units.

This is what NHS guidelines recommend.
