Hey, I’m new here and wondered if anyone had any advice or similar experiences. I have negative OPKs all month (I think the highest peak is 0.32 pictured on CD10). I don’t have an image of my previous months OPKs but they were all negative just like this month. I’m currently on CD15 of a 28 day cycle so I’m due AF two weeks today. Based on CM and cramps etc, I have guessed I ovulate between CD10 - CD14. It is all guess work though! I tried tracking my BBT but I have an eight month old at home so it’s difficult to make sure that’s the very first thing I do each morning lol. Has anyone had a similar issue where they ovulate but do not have an LH surge? I just have no idea what is happening at the mo and it’s quite frustrating. Thank you in advance 💓

Hello @Dan2005 you may have a short surge. Some womens LH surge are short and can easily be missed if you don’t test at the right time of day. Some days you have only tested once a day looking at your pic. For example CD14 you only logged a test at around 7:30am but you could have peaked that night and it be negative again by the next morning. Some peoples come out of nowhere and don’t have a gradual progression. If you’re not already I’d say start testing 2/3 times a day when your closer to your predicted window.

Also what opks are you using? Perhaps you could try different ones? I use Femometer and easy@home both have worked well for me and others I know.

Also if you drink a lot and have diluted urine it won’t pick it up so you could try doing a 2-4 hour hold and dont drink too much before testing and see if that helps.

Good luck Smile

Hey @Newbiemg thank you for replying! Yeah I’ve not tested twice a day every day so I could definitely do that, or even up it to three times a day. I thought an LH surge happened around 12-48 hours before you ovulate so I’ve no idea about short surges. I haven’t googled much, just being trying to DTD as much as poss and hope for the best! I have two apps - one says I ovulated yesterday and one says ovulation will be tomorrow. I really feel like it already happened though as I had EWCM for about three days and the cramps to go with. I’m just using internet cheapies but I may try another brand. Realistically, I should just stop testing and take things as they come but I can’t seem to stop haha.

@Dan2005

haha love this ' Realistically, I should just stop testing and take things as they come but I can’t seem to stop haha' I think this is the thought of every women on here! haha

If it puts your mind at rest then just test even if its two/three times a day, maybe once you've done that you'll be able to pinpoint ovulation then you can cut back on the testing as your know roughly when it's due!

Fingers crossed xxx

@Graceybaby honestly hahaha I know I need to just stop but no matter how many times I tell myself no more, I always do it again. I think I’m going to up it to a few times a day just in case. I do wonder if I have a super short surge and I’ve missed it maybe. I think I feel so under pressure because I’m 35 and I kinda feel like if it isn’t right now, will I ever do it? I clearly need a hobby lol xx

Oh I know how you feel, I'm 33 and feel similar.. I already have a little boy and was pretty sure I didn't want anymore but suddenly changed my mind (as us women do! Haha) and now I'm panicking having to go down this crazy TTC road again. It took me 6 months to conceive my son and that felt like long enough for me! I've only just stopped my pill so I'm in a shitty waiting to even see if I ovulate stage but I will be like you doing opks all day just incase 😂 haha xxxx

Dan2005 · 17/03/2022 18:41

@Graceybaby I’ll be bulk buying 300 a month at this rate haha. Yeah we have our little girl and was absolutely confident we didn’t want anymore. Then one day we just changed our mind and now feel very pressed for time! We are in our second month TTC and I find it quite stressful. Our daughter was a very lovely surprise so no TTC then. I’m super impatient and the two week wait is basically three years long in my head lol. I hope you get back to normal quickly and can get things going! Xx

@Dan2005 haha I literally ordered a load today in preparation 🙈😂 Ooo a happy suprise is always the best! TTC can be torturous at times especially the TWW, although I do kinda like it in a weird way because it's at that point that something could potentially be happening! I'm hoping my body gets itself together pretty quickly. I always used to have pretty regular standard cycles so hopefully nothings changed!

Are on the '34 and TTC' thread, if not come join us over there xxxxx

Dan2005 · 17/03/2022 19:25

@Graceybaby I’m not but I’ll try find it now and join in there (even though I’m 35 and basically a geriatric in comparison to my 34 YO self hahaha) x
