I use ovusense and am happy with it. I wear it in my arm/ near my armpit x

RMS0209 · 17/03/2022 11:58

@Flossyrex thank you for getting back to me! I was looking into them for next month if needed but wasn't sure between the two which would be better x

@RMS0209 I love my AVA, it gives me such clear graph. I just wear it when I go to bed and take it off at roughly the same time everyday and immediately sync it even if I then go back to sleep. V useful to confirm ovulation and confirm when you're out.... I get a text book downturn in BPM and body temp x

RMS0209 · 17/03/2022 13:57

@FlyOnTheWall89 thanks so much for getting back to me!
I think the Ava is looking more like the winner
What about "fertile days" does it give you a good notice? Obviously I use the app's and the clear blues at the moment but i would like to attempt to make this as simple as I can.
Plus I am getting reflexology at the moment and she has asked me to track my BBT but I'm not the greatest sleeper and keep forgetting.

This is an example @RMS0209 - my cycles are very regular so I know in advance but you can see I get maybe a 6 day window. I don't tend to record all details - I use the AVA graph in conjunction with Fertility Friend. Hope this helps x

@FlyOnTheWall89 think you've sold it to me!
very jealous of the 8hr sleep,I just can't turn off.
my AF Varys between 29/30 days (I had a unique 33 day cycle in Feb) but this all looks good. I have been using the "fertility friend" for the last 2 days for my BBT also.
Thank you very much.
I'm sending you lots of luck 🌟 if no good news this month I'm off to buy one of these! X

@RMS0209 Hope you enjoy - sadly we have some issues so are a while away but this one was gifted by a lovely lady on here and I plan to pass this one on too once we finally manage to get a positive :-) xx

RMS0209 · 17/03/2022 15:34

@FlyOnTheWall89 how lovely ❤️ I'd like to think if and when I get lucky I could do the same to somebody. X

I have just bought ovusense! Purely because Ava is specifically for regular periods and mine aren’t regular. Ovusense have an option of one that’ll work for those with PCOS and other conditions which can cause irregular periods!

I’ve been using an OvuSense for the past six months or so and have found it really useful to identify when I may have ovulated (currently having tests to see if ovulation is happening or not). I have PCOS and irregular cycles so it gives a long and changeable fertile window each cycle but it’s been useful to confirm a BBT rise each cycle, it’s helped to calculate the timing of mid-luteal phase blood tests and to predict when my next cycle will start rather than being totally in the dark.

Peonies94 · 28/03/2022 14:18

@CharlotteYorkMacDougal I am in the same position as you! I have cycles 50-100 days so also have no idea! I’ve only had random day bloods, and a scan! It’s my first cycle using the Ovusense and started on cycle day 40 something, and I’ve only used it 3 days! It’s predicted ovulation happening soon, but I’m not sure that’s correct, we’ll see! Do you find it to be accurate?

CharlotteYorkMacDougal · 28/03/2022 15:45

@Peonies94 For me I would say it becomes more accurate as I go through my cycle! At the beginning it gives me a seven day window, once that window starts, presumably if it doesn’t think there’s been a temperature increase, the window is shifted back or lengthened each time I sync it with the app. Last cycle it still said on the Thursday morning that ovulation was predicted that day but when I synced it on the Friday it changed to say that ovulation had already happened on the Monday. However, every time it’s given me a date for ovulation my period has started without fail ten or eleven days later, so in that sense I think it is correctly sensing something happening. Unfortunately with the whole changing from Thursday to Monday debacle I wasn’t able to get an appointment for a progesterone blood test on the Saturday (which would’ve been mid- luteal phase) but my blood test on the Monday (so seven days into a ten day luteal phase) did show elevated progesterone, but not high enough to confirm ovulation. I would never have been able to find out how to time the blood test or that I might have a short luteal phase without using the OvuSense so I do think it’s been worth it even though, for me, it’s not very accurate at predicting in advance. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful, it’s probably different for different people and you may find it can predict your cycle ahead of time but I would be prepared for the window to keep moving especially for the first few cycles.

I’ve had the bloods and a scan done too and we’re now waiting for the sperm analysis to be done before we decide whether to wait for the appointment at the Assisted Conception service or to get a consultation at a private clinic. It’s a stressful time, but fingers crossed the OvuSense is useful for you!

Peonies94 · 28/03/2022 16:04

@CharlotteYorkMacDougal ahh okay! I’ve had a prediction for ovulation! My temp dipped last night when I scanned in this morning. Ahh I get you, it’s better than nothing, but it is hard when it changes with arranging bloods! I have never had bloods post ovulation! Just random day, and they said all fine, but I can’t understand how when they can’t check for specific things if you get me!
Yes thank you! I wish you all the best too! Let me know how you get on! I will see what it does these next few days! I’m sure this prediction is nothing, but we shall see!

CharlotteYorkMacDougal · 28/03/2022 17:16

@Peonies94 It’s strange how the blood tests you can get seem to vary depending on where you live! I only got a ‘Day 21’ blood test through my GP which showed no ovulation had happened - NICE guidance is that for irregular cycles the blood test should be repeated weekly until you get your period but the GP refused and as she was referring me on to Assisted Conception there wasn’t much I could do (NICE don’t stipulate that the bloods have to be done by the GP). I also asked for Day 3 bloods and a scan but the GP said I’d need to speak to Assisted Conception about that too, and also that there’s a long wait to be seen by them due to Covid. That’s why I got the blood tests done privately, so then I could choose the dates myself, I’m going to be 38 later this year so I’d rather not wait too long. It does seem strange that yours weren’t done on a specific day of your cycle, hopefully the data from the OvuSense will help you work out what’s going on with your cycle a bit more 🤞

Peonies94 · 28/03/2022 18:38

@CharlotteYorkMacDougal so weird how it’s so different! I’ got the scan and one set of bloods and told to try again for an additional 6 months and then I’d be referred. Made contact after 12 months ttc!
