Came off pill over 4 months ago and so far no period. Went to doctor who did blood tests and they are fine (not PCOS either). Passed somewhere called the chinese doctor in wakefield (ridings centre) the other day and signed up for a 6 week course of acupuncture and herbs. The herbs smell and taste horrible but the acupuncture is relaxing. Feel quite confident as the dr states that he is a member of the association of TCM and seems very knowledgeable. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of this sort of thing working or whether you think I am wasting my time and money! In the mean time, I am on a waiting list to see a gyno (should be about 4 weels I think.

julesie,

Did the GP compare the level of LH against that of FSH if both of these levels were tested?. Were your thyroid hormone levels tested as well?. If neither of these things were done then the GP could very well have missed something.

Am glad therefore you have been referred to see a gynae for further evaluation.

Be extremely wary of TCM. Not all of these people are properly qualified either. Do you know exactly what you are taking re the herbs?.

Hi attila
The TCM has given me some info but I will ask for a list to take to my GP. I am not sure exactly how the tests were carried out, but thanks for your info - I will ask the GP for more information. My thyroid is fine. Fingers crossed I will see my period soon! Thanks for replying x

Hi Julesie- good that you are getting checked out. A similar thing happened to me- I came off the pill and no period for 3 months. The doctor just told me not to worry and it can take awhile for your body to "wake up" and she was right. I got my period soon after and then was pregnant next cycle. For me it didn't work out, but that is another story. Good luck!

Thanks Lulu for your message which is reassuring. Hope things do work out for you soon.
