If it's a BFN what is going on?

As you can see I've name changed to ask for some advice. I usually have a short cycle of around 23-25 days. Today is day 40. I had a negative test on day 33, though I didn't do it first thing in the morning so there's the possibility it was wrong.

I'm going to test again first thing tomorrow but if it's negative again, what is going on? For background I'm 39 and have one DS who is almost 5. I have some pregnancy symptoms but trying not to get my hopes up in case it's negative again tomorrow. Thanks

Possible that you ovulated later than usual or you're having an anovulatory cycle. Do you track your cycle?

I make a note of the first day of my period but that's it.

A cyst? I had one (well three) on a cycle when my period was late.

@Rrrob I suppose it could be, I've had one before many years ago (was borderline size to be operated on but luckily resolved naturally in the end). However I haven't had any symptoms like I did when I had my previous cyst - not that it rules it out.

@Namechanged4help I didn’t have any symptoms at all. It took 2 cycles to go away…and I fell pregnant the following cycle. Good luck!

Well it was negative So now I guess I wait and see when my period decides to make a very late entrance.

I'm in a similar situation (although have been sterilised so really hoping I'm not pregnant!) Pretty regular cycles, give or take a few days but am now 7-10 days late. I'm 39. Did a pregnancy test yesterday which was negative so really not sure what is going on...
