TTC after missed miscarriage

Hello,

I just wondered if there was anyone that could give me a bit of advice/information. I had a missed miscarriage diagnosed and had an MVA on Monday last week, so 10 days ago. The bleeding is slowing down now and pregnancy symptoms have gone (thankfully). At the hospital on the day it was confirmed (the Weds before the MVA) the dr couldn’t have been more positive about trying again and made a point of saying how many couples conceive again after MC etc. It was literally the first thing he said when we walked into the room. When I had the op, the consultant said to wait for a period, purely so they can date the possible next pregnancy. Is this really the only reason they suggest waiting for a period? I’m not suggesting that I want to try like right now, but are there actually medical reasons that you shouldn’t TTC before a period? I’ve read things suggesting that the lining might not be thick enough for a little while to support a new pregnancy etc.. But I just wonder how anyone could have any clue what is actually going on inside their body at any point and how anyone would know they’ve physically “recovered” enough?

I just wondered if anyone has any actually information of this at all?

Thank you x
