What does your ovulation feel like?

I read on here a lot that people can feel ovulation pains. What does that geelong like for those of you who notice them? Is it sharp pain? Quick? Period type pain?

Just interested. Ever since my ectopic last year, I feel a fair bit of discomfort around ovulation and wondered what others experience...

Like period pain but off to one side and sore than crampy.

RagzRebooted · 09/03/2022 19:28

Sore rather than crampy, that should say.

I feel nothing

LittleMisfortune · 09/03/2022 19:29

I don't feel anything I just get clear discharge

Notbluepeter · 09/03/2022 19:36

Sharp twinge on one side. It's gotten significantly stronger since having my DS

DaisyWaldron · 09/03/2022 19:38

Higher up than period pain and to one side. It starts off tender, like a sort of internal bruise, and gets stronger until it's more stabby like trapped wind or a stitch (but not as painful as a stitch).

Frlrlrubert · 09/03/2022 19:39

A bit like a stitch but lower and deeper. I only get pains on the left side.

Yellowleadbetter · 09/03/2022 19:40

Sharp pain, stabby on one side accompanied by aching dragging pain/ discomfort in my undercarriage.
Swollen tummy
Javelin arse sometimes too.
Lasts for about 12-24 hours.
Nothing that a couple of paracetamol can’t cope with though.

Nothing that I’ve noticed apart from wanting sex a lot

IlFaitBeau · 09/03/2022 19:41

Sharp, sore “twingy” one-sided ache on the dot at day 13/14 for my entire menstruating life so far. Preceded by EWCM for 4 days before. Like absolute clockwork.

It helped plan 2 DC to ridiculous degrees of accuracy when conceiving.

dozyjosie44 · 09/03/2022 19:46

A combination of dull aching and sharp twinges. Also quite bloaty. Like other posters I never noticed it before I had dc. Sometimes it got so bad I needed painkillers. Loads of clear discharge too....sorry tmi. Currently pregnant so haven't had it for a while Grin

Very interesting, thanks all! I kind of assumed it was sharp twinges for a couple of minutes but I've been really uncomfortable all day (period and wind type pains mixed with some sharp twinges on my right side) and was wondering if it could be ovulation, although I got my peak on LH on Monday midday so not sure 🤷‍♀️
