Theres something about changing your diet to concieve a girl but I can't find it....anyone know??

I know the theory about doing the deed before ovulation but that didn't work for us.

I remeber reading or hearing something about changing your diet to alter the acid/alkaline environment of your fango to make the female sperm survive longer/male sperm die but I can't remeber what the changes need to be....

BTW, Girl OR Boy would be cool, our youngest is such a lovely little boy that to make another one like him wouldn't be sooo bad

I think an old friend of mine tried this, with success but we're not in touch anymore so I can't help really!!

I read once that lots of dairy for a girl and lots of citrus fruit for boys... might just be an old wifes tale though..

I love dairy infact i craved milkshakes though my pregnancy and i have 2 girls (although 1 has a severe dairy intolerance so dont know it could be connected).

Timing

Dr Shettles? technique of having sex at particular times is the most popular method. For a girl, have sex regularly from the day your period ends until two to four days before ovulation - which occurs about 14 days before your next period is due - then stop. For a boy, abstain or use condoms until four days before ovulation, then abstain totally until 12 hours prior to ovulation, then have sex, just once.

Diet

The main theory is to eat lots of calcium-rich foods for a girl while cutting down on salt. For a boy, increase salty foods and red meat and cut down on dairy products. Positions

To conceive a girl, Dr Shettles recommends the missionary position and shallow penetration. To conceive a boy, try rear entry with deep penetration.

Orgasm

If you?re trying for a girl, hold off completely. If you?re trying for a boy, try to orgasm before your partner. This increases the flow of alkaline secretions in the vagina, which is best for boy-producing sperm.

Very good advice here. Also remember to not let your partner have any caffeine as it helps male sperm.

I tried some of these methods and am 20 weeks pregnant with a boy! Just happy hes healthy but I am going to have to try for a 3rd child now as DESPERATELY want a daughter. Does anyone know if you can have IVF in europe and be implanted with female embryo's? I know you cant here and that some people will frown on this. I love ds1 and will love ds2 god willing he arrives all ok but I dont want to risk ds3! I just want dd... Any advice greatly recieved

i have a ds and would love a girl but i do believe evrything happens for a reason and and god choses what you will have !!!
not sure if i would trust the doc in europe you hear all sorts of horror stories!!!
my best friend went to a high class clinic for ivf and they gave her an infection that nearly killed her!!!!!!

Fibbertyjibbet -when i say risk i mean that to have a child is a serious business that i take very responsibly. i would love ds3 like i love ds1 and 2 but to have a 3rd boy would mean considering a fourth perhaps a fifth etc. I dont want to be too exhausted to be a good mum by trying to be a mum to too many kids. Ideally i want 2 kids but now that isnt my reality.
Sambrads - to be pregnant is a gift. Even though i bleed constantly and feel sick at the thought of food. I force myself to eat daily. I am still grateful. It took me 9 months to concieve this time as I was using the said methods above to try for a girl. I only got pregnant when i gave up and decided to just go for it in any old way!

I know that many people on here struggle to concieve and my heart goes out to them. I am just honestly saying I would like a daughter really badly. If youre happy with just boys thats great but you dont understand the longing i have for a daughter to judge me.

perhaps you need to look at why you are so desperate for a girl? because their is no guarantee that the girl you have will be the daughter you want.

I am not 'happy' with 'just' boys. I am happy with the lovely children that I have been blessed with. They just happen to be boys.

i ve got a son of 8 months and i also desperatly want another baby. i wud like to have a girl but it wouldnt bother me in the slightest, there are people all over the world desperate to have just one baby never mind deciding what they want. technology has gone way to far with this, being able to choose, a baby is NOT a toy, an accessory or posetion, we should not ever feel we want to actually choose the sex of our children, we should be greatful to have them.

If I knew I could conceive at the drop of a hat I would try the below, but I can't and so I'd just be grateful to fall pregnant. Boy or girl wouldn't matter.
