Hi,
so after a very long cycle I finally made an appointment with my gp. She said (although my cycle was 50days long), everything looks normal, endometrium looked like I had a normal cycle. AF isn’t any heavier, so I’m just assuming this long cycle was caused by covid or stress. Ultrasound showed no cysts on my ovaries.

However, we have been trying to concieve for over a year, so my gp suggested DH gets SA done, and she put me on Clomid. I’m on a 5-10 protocol.

Has anyone been on Clomid before? Any success? Did you have many side-effects?

Apart from that, she gave me a referral for hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. She said to try 3 months of Clomid first and if we’re not successful I should get the procedures. 😬 Anyone currently in the same situation?

Not for me but I know some people it worked for.

I'm blooming jealous your GP would prescribe an ovulation inducer. It's taken me 2 years of TTC with super long cycles and a referral to the fertility clinic to get letrozole. Will start at next period (whenever that is)

We have been TTC for over a year as well. But I usually have regular cycles (28-32), so I really had no reason to go to my gp before this month. 😬 I’m thankful she did it … hope it helps.

And hope letrizole helps you!!
I’m so lucky I went to my gp when I was already on my period so I can start tomorrow already (day 5). Hope AF shows for you soon, @TheDaydreamBelievers , or not at all if you could be pregnant? 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Wow, I had to jump through hoops for clomid. What a good GP!

I really liked clomid and it was a positive experience for me. We were ttc for 4 long years, I had ridiculously long cycles (70 days +) I was prescribed clomid and took my first course. I had to take a drug called provera to force my period to come as my cycles were so long. This was 13 + years ago now so they may not prescribe provera any more? I was scanned on day 14 and no sign of ovulation.

Negative pregnancy tests at day 28 so I assumed it hadn't worked. No sign of ny period so the doctor prescribed provera on cycle day 64 (after another negative pregnancy test) to induce a period so I could get cracking on my second course of clomid. Period didn't appear, by this point I was climbing the walls as I had taken what I had built up in my head as a miracle drug and here I was with no period and no positive pregnancy test.

I got my bfp on cycle day 67. From my dating scan, it seemed that I had got pregnant on cycle day 56 after all. So had taken the provera after already becoming pregnant.

Good luck OP and anyone else. I cried many tears over many years for that positive pregnancy test. Hope you get yours soon.

We were offered 6 rounds of clomid after 4 years ttc and successful on the 5th

Hi guys. I’m confused about clomid as I read it shouldn’t be prescribed for unexplained infertility but I see lots of examples where people are allowed to give it a try. Does it go anything if you’re already ovulating on your own?!

I got pregnant with clomid with my first after 2.5 years of TTC, think it was on my 5th month of clomid. Wishing you the best of luck Thanks
