HELLO
I have started using an ovulation test kit.
Never used one before as we’re trying to conceive.
The trouble is, how do I know if it’s bloody positive? Or when I’m meant to stop taking them?
They’re £2.49 from home bargins. I’ll post a picture of the tests with dates etc… we’ve been trying for over 18 months. We both have kids from previous relationships too.

Hello @Fruitoasis you can’t upload photos until you have been a member for 48 hours but once you have you will see a paper clip under where you write the messages and that’s how you upload.

I can still try to explain the ovulation tests. You can start testing a few days before you are due to ovulate if you know roughly when but what I did at first is start the day after my period finished because that way I knew I wouldn’t miss my LH surge if it came early or later. You keep testing until you get your positive/peak and then some people stop there. Personally I like to test just for a couple more days so I see the tests go back negative to make sure those were my strongest ones.

Once you get a positive/peak result you should ovulate 12-48 hours after this but can be up to 72 hours and this was the case for me last cycle so I would suggest you try the day of positives and the 3 days after atleast.

You maybe always get two lines on your ovulation tests (I do) but if the test line is lighter than the control line then the test is negative. They are positive once the test line is as dark or darker than the control line.

You can also use an app like Premom and take photos of your tests and the app will tell you once your test is positive (high/peak). I’ve attached a photo of some of mine. On my tests the test line is the line on the white side and control is the pink side.

If you’re using the tests that are plastic more like pregnancy tests then they should have a C and T on them so you can tell which is control and test lines.

I hope this helps. Good luck! Smile
