M/C Mid Nov - Am I Pregnant ?? Please Help Going MAD !!

I miscarried about the 16 Nov 07 at 10 weeks, I did a preg test last sat, it was positive. I went to the doctors today, no help what so ever told me to come back in 2 weeks with a sample. I can't wait 2 more weeks i'm driving myself mad, so i did another one just now and it still says i'm pregnant. Am I ?? Is there any other test i can do or ask for ?

Have you had MP? Do you have a local family planning clinic that you could go to, they might test you.

I don't know tbh but I just wanted to say that I have heard of people having false positive results for quite a while after MC.

So sorry you are going through this micromum. When I mc I still showed a pos test a couple of weeks afterwards. However, it is possible you have since ovulated and are pregnant again.
The only way to find out is to test your HCG levels:
If they are doubling every 48 hours, it is likely a new, currently viable pregnancy. If they are falling, it is either left over from your mc or you are losing a new pregnancy.
I think it is terribly cruel of your docs to ask you to wait 2 weeks. Call tomorrow and say you want them to test a urine sample for HCG, then another one on Monday. Even if the results take a couple of days (postcode lottery I'm afraid) you should know something within a week. Or you may get better luck from the EPAU at your local hospital?

my brother and his dp had a m/c the beginning of september and she got pregnant again 8 days later, i had one sept 11th at 10 weeks and caught 8 weeks later but i was testing negative after 3. Could you get a private scan? you will know for sure either way then im going to say congrats

Thank you for your messages, i spoke to the doctors this morning, they don't offer HCG urine tests only for 16 years or younger. The receptionist was really nice and has booked me in with one of the woman doctors for monday. Does any one know if i go to a family planning clinic can they do the HCG test??

Hi mm - try calling the EPAU at your local hospital - they may do you a test or get you in for an early scan.

Thanks Jackstini, nurse has just phoned me from doctors surgery, said she is not sending the urine sample off(receptionist told me to bring in one this morning so we could have one being tested and another one on monday) as man doctor said wait 2 weeks. I'm so angry.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr You need to complain MM.
Trust me, it is suprising how quick things get sent off if you start weeping on the phone or in reception about them taking 2 weeks to tell you if your baby has died...

micromum - this is miserable. It seems like a really long time still to be testing positive though if your m/c was in mid-November. Do you feel pregnant? or are you just too confused now to know what you feel?!

Like you I had a m/c in november a few years back and was pregnant in january leading to a baby girl the following november, so you could be!

Just thought i would update in case anybody else is in a similar situation.

I went to see the Lady Doctor last monday, i told her what had been going on and that i was at the end of my tether, she was very sympathetic and thought i was pregnant. i ask if she could do some sort of test just in case, ie HCG Levels, she sent me for a scan at the local hospital and told me to pled my case and hopefully would get a scan the same day.

After going to a number of different departments and speaking to some not very nice people,

I GOT A SCAN

They gave me an internal scan as they wouldn't be able to see any thing on a normal one AND i'm pregnant, could see the heart beating.
