Who’s got pregnant using the pull out method?
I have a 1 yr DS. Lost a baby a few months ago and haven’t used contraception just the withdrawal method. There’s mixed reviews on weither this method really works? Is it effective enough to really rely on.. Confused It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to fall pregnant again, DH & I are in a happy, stable relationship, just not actively trying..

My periods have been spot on since a teen, but this month lasted a day, normal flow, stopped the next 2 days and started again after (tmi) intercourse, carried on for a few hours with average flow, then stopped. Been roughly 3 weeks since ovulation date, done a pregnancy test 2/3 days ago and negative. Would I have a BFN by now?

You would have a BFP by now if that's definitely when you ovulated.

The pull out method is wholly unreliable if you really don't want a baby but if you're not fussed then it sits around 75% effectiveness.

I have a beautiful 5 year old courtesy of withdrawal method. Used to 2 years then started TTC baby 2- pregnant first cycle. Using it for past 3.5 years. As pp have said it’s not great if you 100% don’t want to get pregnant but for people who struggle with hormones and would continue a pregnancy anyway I think it’s fine.
If you combine it with true natural family planning (cycle tracking including Basel temp and cervical mucus, not using on high risk days) it can be very effective.

I have a 2 year old courtesy of the pull out method and another girl in my mothers group in the same position so definitely not fool proof!

I have used this with my husband since we got together 7 years ago. No scares apart from once I had my normal period followed by what I thought was another period a couple of weeks later. It was accompanied by a lot of pain so I thought was a urine infection. Eventually a doctor told me he thought it to be a very early missed miscarriage. Weather it was or not I'll never know.

It has been very effective for us. This is our first month TTC properly so not sure if any of us have any fertility issues or anything but apart from that one time we have found this very effective.
