Missed mini pill by 24 hours

Hi All!

I am on the mini pill - desogestrel. I’m usually pretty good at taking it, but I missed my pill by 24 hours - usually taking it at around midnight each night. I missed an entire day and didn’t remember until midnight the next day. I had sex maybe 3-4 hours before I realised I hadn’t taken it. I’m sure all is ok, but I just wanted to check if you think I should take a pregnancy test and if so when? After two weeks? I can’t tell by my period as I don’t get one on the mini pill.

My doctor told me missing one is fine - just make sure you take your next one. If you miss two you should double dose.
If you miss more than two use extra contraception for the next 7 days.

No that’s not correct. If it’s the mini pill and you miss the 12 hour window you are not protected for 48 hours. You’ll need to get emergency contraception if you are within the time frame and don’t want to conceive. Here’s the link

That's not the case for the mini pill.

OP you need emergency contraception. As for a pregnancy test- I'd do one in a month's time

This is advice for the combined pill

You can't miss 1 mini pill like you could the combined pill. If you do miss one you need to be taking the mini pill for 2 days to be covered again.

You could have taken the morning after pill
