Hey everyone, so me and my partner have been trying for just on a year for a baby doing IUI, So we're currently at 4 weeks 5 days and on our test date she had a bleed, which resulted in her getting HCG blood tests and we found out the same day that the HCG level was 362 (4W2D) and two days later they repeated the test (4W4D) and the HCG results was 982!! Is this a positive thing? I believe this is a high result?
Im finding understanding HCG difficult at the moment!
Plus we had a miscarriage 7 months ago and this worries me! Need some reassurance, Any help to understand all this I will appreciate!!

Hey I believe very high levels can mean multiples pregnancy (twins etc) or sometimes health problems - very very rare

Thank you for responding to me! I'm so anxious and the more I read the more I worry, we have 2 weeks till the scan and it feels like it's so far away!!

You can ask for an early reassurance scan at the hospital! Just say you've been reading what it could mean and if they could scan you before the official scan

That is definitely a very high number!

You could ask the hospital for a reassurance scan but the NHS may not budge. Could you do a private scan? My friend did one a couple of years ago, it was £40.

I hope it works out well for you and your DP x

I am not a medical expert but I went through a similar thing a couple of years ago. From my googling research I understand that the value of the numbers don't matter too much it's more that the numbers are increasing rather than decreasing so that's a good sign. But please also seek medical advice.

Thank you all, I have asked for a scan but they said to us that the earliest they would do it is in two weeks and I've asked for more blood to be done which is a extra £52 (were under a private clinic).. But suggested we waited two more weeks. Told us to just relax it's a positive, giving the circumstances we've been through once before it's very hard to relax xx
