Confused! This is my first month using OPKs, and according to them I ovulated on CD19. My tracker app has always predicted ovulation as CD14 (which explains why we’ve had no luck yet 🤦🏻‍♀️) as my cycle is only ever 28-29 days. So my question is, if the app says I’m 9dpo but my OPK would suggest I’m 4dpo when would my period be ‘late’?! App is still saying AF is due this weekend, but I guess I should probably go with the OPK? I don’t temp as we’re still quite early on in ttc so hadn’t got myself organised.

I would say your tracker is accurate in predicting when your AF is due because if it's saying this weekend then that would be your cycle of 28-29 days as you said.. but in terms of how many dpo you are I would go on your opks and I would wait 2 weeks to test. Hope that helps!

Thanks for replying @lollyx96 - I think at the back of my mind is a worry that if my AF is still working a 28 day cycle but my ovulation is CD18/19 as per OPK then my luteal phase (I think it’s called!) might be worryingly short. But you’re right, I think it’s two weeks from opk. So quite a wait then! 😂. X

I wouldn't worry just yet if you have only just started opks I'm only on my second month of tracking with opks and already can see it differs each cycle! So on my first month of tracking I ovulated on cd17 (got pos opk cd16) and this month I'm due to ovulate tomorrow cd 14! Got my positive opk today x

That’s so reassuring thank you so much! X

@Worryant hello Smile which app are you using? I can update mine to put my positive opk or ovulation day in manually and then it changes my AF accordingly if it thinks it will change. Maybe you could try that and see if it updates it?

I use Premom and Flo (and FF for BBT). Good luck this cycle! 🤞🏼✨

I didn’t track by opk, I mostly looked at my cm. I had it in days cd15-20, we dtd on night of 16. It says it dries up after ovulation so maybe I ovulated on cd19. I was expecting a 28 day cycle, but because I ovulated later than day14 I thought maybe it would start today or tomorrow instead (eg 14 days after ovulation). I just tested and got a positive test. So I waited until what should have been 13/14 days after. Only because last time I tested on cd27 got a negative and then got the period on cd28.

I don’t know if I can edit. Correction-Last time I tested on cd28 and started on cd29.

@Newbiemg oh I’m so dense! I use P tracker, which hasn’t updated my period predictor but just looked at premom (which i had only used to photo my opk test and that’s changed my AF prediction on the calendar. So I’ll just ignore the tracker and use premom for AF as well. Thank goodness you replied 😂👍🏻 Good luck to you as well 🤞🏻 X

@Blue2020 congratulations on your positive! That makes sense. I’ve also tracked cm, and that seemed to agree with opk which showed a later ovulation than I would have thought. I’ll wait till 13-14 days after that which would now agree with my updated premom calendar as well. All the very best for a healthy pregnancy! X

Can you manually adjust ovulation on your tracker / or use the Fertility Friend app?

Worryant · 28/02/2022 20:25

@BaliB I adjusted the ovulation day manually but it’s still showing as technically I’ll be getting AF nine or ten days later. Maybe I should change tracker-it’s just it has my data as far back as from 2014! I’m reluctant to lose it 😂
