2WW - Desperate to test!

Hey everyone,

It is my 4th month of TTC, and last night I had THE most vivid dream I was pregnant!

In my dream, I went a bit dizzy and nauseous at work, and decided to take a test to rule it out. It was just a cheapy strip test but there was a shadow of a line. So I made my partner bring me a FRER straight to my office, took that and there were two undeniable pink lines.

It felt so realistic, and yesterday I had a short spout of cramping in Asda - I'm daring to wish that was implantation and my dream is a sign it's my month!

Please distract me with stories of your premonitions / dreams / BFP's whilst I get through this 2WW because I am desperate to POAS!

I'm itching to test too!!

How many DPO are you? I'm 6DPO today.

ElleBelleLou · 14/02/2022 12:34

@EishetChayil I'm literally only 4PO according to Flo (but I think I ovulated a day early based on symptoms). Don't know how I'll be so patient - I wish you could just know straight away!

5dpo here. In December I had a dream I was pregnant and did turn out to be pregnant but it was a chemical. Months ago now I had a very clear dream that someone asked me when our second baby was due and I said October 2022. If that one is going to come true then this month is my last shot, lol. If I turn out to be pregnant this time then I'd be due on Halloween.

ElleBelleLou · 14/02/2022 13:01

@TheBirdintheCave wow! I hope it comes true for you and you get a BFP soon. They do say when you're pregnant you just know. Maybe this is part of that just knowing

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 15/02/2022 09:12

@ElleBelleLou Thanks :D

I'm 6dpo today. How are you both feeling? I've just been reading that the average day for implantation is 9dpo and not 6dpo like I previously thought. I think I'll still do a cheapie at 8dpo though just to take the edge off haha.

ElleBelleLou · 15/02/2022 09:34

5 days DPO and I'm exactly the same as you I've been reading it all and now thinking my Asda cramps definitely can't have been implantation. Then I depressed myself looking at all the low statistics of people actually getting pregnant. Not feeling as optimistic as I was yesterday!

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 15/02/2022 10:01

@ElleBelleLou Yeah when you read the statistics it seems incredible that there are any humans on the planet at all!

ElleBelleLou · 15/02/2022 10:11

@TheBirdintheCave It's crazy - when you're younger at school they make it out like you look at a man the wrong way and you'll end up pregnant. I wish they'd been more realistic, it feels like it's nothing like that! I just need to remember it's not over until AF arrives but yesterday I felt so sure this was my month, today that feeling has completely gone!

Hi, New here. I have am desperate to test but not sure if I'm being hasty. Was due 1 week ago based on a 28 day cycle, my cycle is between 28-34 days so only 2 days late for my longest cycle I've had but they usually 28-32 days.

I have very mild on and off cramping and tender nipples/boobs but that's the only symptom (same as period symptoms really). I don't know how long to wait before I test as I know my periods are somewhat irregular in terms of cycle length. However I want to know so bad but also don't want false excitement and then disappointment.

ElleBelleLou · 15/02/2022 12:33

@miamiamia869 are you saying you could be a week late on your period? If that's the case you can definitely test now - maybe get an FRER as they are more sensitive, if you are pregnant they should pick up a positive by now for you. I'd test if I was you :)

OP posts:
miamiamia869 · 15/02/2022 13:41

@ElleBelleLou . Yeah my last 2 cycles were 28 days so based on that a week since I was due on. However, TMI I am sure but I have this afternoon noticed a light pink when going for a wee and wiping so guessing this is unfortunately probably my period coming. My cycle is very irregular so could well be although this would be the longest cycle since I started logging them :-( . Can I please ask what FRER stands for? Thanks

ElleBelleLou · 15/02/2022 14:19

@miamiamia869 have you had any cramps or anything that you normally get when your period is coming? Sorry! FRER stands for First Response Early Result - it's just a pregnancy test that is more sensitive than others so can pick up a positive result quite early on xx

OP posts:
miamiamia869 · 15/02/2022 14:23

yeah I have had a few minor cramps. I feel like it is coming and I should put of the test. I will see how today goes I think it will come today. If its not by Thursday I think I will test. Thank you. I think I will get the early response one if I ever do test, either this cycle or in the future.

ElleBelleLou · 15/02/2022 15:57

@miamiamia869 Well I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I don't know how you have the willpower - by now if I was a week late on my period I think I'd be about 18 pregnancy tests in haha. I hope you get the result you want when the time comes xx

OP posts:
miamiamia869 · 15/02/2022 16:02

It is hard, its just because I know I am irregular and don't want to get obsessed that I have the willpower. Thank you so much :-) xx

ElleBelleLou · 15/02/2022 16:21

Completely understand that, every month I'm obsessed with symptom spotting and convincing myself. Keep us updated! xx

@ElleBelleLou I recognise you from another thread - I'm in exactly the same boat. Had a random sharp pain at 4dpo, yesterday was convinced I had cramps and creamy discharge and had convinced myself I was pregnant but today feel like I have no symptoms at all and feel like it's not going to be this month - it's such a rollercoaster! I'm now 7dpo and can't believe I'm only halfway through the 2ww! When do you think you'll test? I have a FRER upstairs calling to me...

ElleBelleLou · 15/02/2022 16:34

@MrsSamRowley Hey, I recognise you too :) It really is such a rollercoaster it takes over my mind, just symptom spotting and daydreaming! Well AF isn't due until 25th, every time I've tested early convinced I have symptoms just to have BFNs and disappointment when AF shows up. I only have the internet cheapie strips, I like to think I will hold off and test if AF is late but I know what I'm like and I can't wait that long.

Even now sat here at my desk typing I can feel a weird crampy pain, like a heavy feeling - not as bad as AF cramps but a similar pain, I'm 5PO and convincing myself yet again it's implantation.....when it's likely me just being oversensitive to any change in my body hahaha

OP posts:
miamiamia869 · 15/02/2022 16:36

I will do, i'll keep checking on here too for any updates from yourself. Good luck, fingers crossed for you xx

theblueflowers · 15/02/2022 17:56

Hey! I'm 5dpo too. Doing everything I can to distract myself. I go from convincing myself I am pregnant to not so many times a day without any evidence- it's all consuming!

MrsSamRowley · 16/02/2022 12:26

How are you today @ElleBelleLou? I'm back to being convinced I'm not pregnant as I have no symptoms but trying to hang on to the fact that it's still super early and with my DD I don't remember having symptoms this early. 8dpo so past the halfway mark of the 2ww...

ElleBelleLou · 16/02/2022 12:36

@MrsSamRowley I'm the same, back to just the gut feeling that I'm not pregnant and nothing is happening. It would be my first pregnancy so I don't even know why I symptom spot because I'm not even 100% what symptoms this early would even be! I'm glad you're past the halfway mark, I'm 6PO today so realistically implantation wouldn't have even occurred by now anyway.
I'm determined for this month to be the month I wait and see IF AF is late before I jump to testing - but I literally daydream about testing and seeing that faint second line... Hmm

OP posts:
MrsSamRowley · 16/02/2022 12:49

@ElleBelleLou there's just such a broad spectrum in terms of what's 'normal' with pregnancy - some people will get symptoms really early and some won't notice they're pregnant for months! All we can do is wait for AF to arrive...or not...easier said than done though! I'm toying with the idea of doing a FRER on Saturday when I'll be 11dpo as I'm meant to be going to a friend's for a girls' night that night so would quite fancy a glass of wine if it turns out I'm not pregnant. But realistically, I wouldn't even know for sure then as it might be too early to show up on a test. I'm just trying to justify testing early haha!

ElleBelleLou · 16/02/2022 13:45

@MrsSamRowley I was convinced last month was my month as I had sore boobs, no cramps, I was late for AF, my skin was bad, I was nauseous but starving - then nothing! And now here I am, no symptoms whatsoever so I suppose it really is a guessing game!
I would do one at 11DPO definitely - I've seen a lot get positives at that point even if they are faint, so if I was you I definitely would! I'm due for a night out on the 26th, and AF is due on the 25th so at least I'll know for sure if I'm celebrating with water or commiserating with vodka haha

OP posts:
MrsSamRowley · 16/02/2022 15:51

@ElleBelleLou what cycle is this for you? It's only month 2 for me but I'm impatient and want it to happen straight away, although I'm 36 so need to be realistic that it might not be as easy as that!

I just find the process so frustrating as you can be doing everything right (giving up alcohol and caffeine, eating healthily, taking the vitamins, and DTD at the right times) and you might be no closer to getting pregnant. With most things in life you can control them to a certain extent but this you really can't!

I checked my app and while it says I'm due AF on the 22nd I read somewhere that while cycles can vary (mine have been between 26-31 since I've been tracking) your luteal phase tends to stay the same and mine is 11 days which would actually mean AF is due on the 21st so if I take a test on Saturday that's only a couple of days early which seems reasonable!

Hopefully we'll both have something to celebrate (with sparkling elderflower!) this time next week!
