I feel like I’m going mad… I’m getting such different results from tests and I don’t know what to believe.

I started testing at 8DPO and got a very faint positive at 9DPO. I have mainly been using internet cheapies with a couple of different sensitivity levels and have continued to get very faint positives, however I wouldn’t say that they have been getting any darker and they do take the full 5 mins to appear.

Yesterday, which was 12DPO, I got a good positive on a FRER that came up well within the time frame but then this morning one of the internet cheapies looks completely negative, not even a flicker of a line.

I’m so confused and don’t know what to think. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Internet cheapies are crap. I had a bad batch in early pregnancy with my second baby. I was getting awful false negatives even when getting 2-3 weeks on a clear blue digital. They can be good, but don’t trust them completely.
Congratulations!

Stop switching between brands. Choose one and stick with it to monitor line progression x

@Shinysilverlamp that’s really annoying but good to know, thank you! So do you think that the FRER is the most reliable?

@ExactlyThat sorry - I realise I wasn’t very clear - I have been using the same 2 internet cheapies each day so can compare like for like with those. FRERs are more expensive so I don’t want to do one of those every day. My plan was to do one yesterday and then again tomorrow to check for line progression and then if things were looking good I would tell my husband. We lost our daughter at 23 weeks so I don’t want to get his hopes up unnecessarily and want to be sure when I tell him.

I’m very sorry for your loss ♥️

abbaroony · 13/02/2022 18:06

@ExactlyThat thank you.

I think it’s probably a chemical - all the tests today have been barely-there lines / evap lines so I’m not holding out much hope for the FRER tomorrow morning at this point :(

Ah I’m really sorry to hear that. Sending you lots of love ❤️

@ExactlyThat having the same situation over the last few days, its driving me nuts. Planning on doing a FRER in the morning & hoping for the best. Good luck!!!

Jenp89 · 13/02/2022 20:51

Sorry @abbaroony was meant to tag you in the post.

abbaroony · 14/02/2022 07:43

@Jenp89 you too!

How did you get on? I’m afraid my FRER was much, much more faint than the one I did on Saturday so I think I am having a chemical. Not sure exactly what to expect next but hoping it doesn’t take too long… I find the waiting part of TTC so hard to deal with!

Morning @abbaroony unfortunately it was a negative for me this morning, not even a faint line whichever way I squinted or held the test, going to ring our clinic this morning as we are TTC through IVF. Got everything crossed for you & hope it all works out.
