Conflicting pregnancy test results

Please can someone maybe share a similar experience, im sending myself mad. Tested on Friday morning as instructed by fertility clinic (9dpt) BFP, Friday night again BFP with first response test. Ordered clearblue digital tests they arrived yesterday afternoon, straight away done the test ‘not pregnant’, guessing my urine was to diluted. Tested again this morning with 3 different brands, clearblue digital now says ‘1-2 weeks pregnant’ other 2 tests are negative. What on earth is going on? Very much preparing myself for worst case scenario. Thank you!

Did you store the urine in a little pot or did you try to wee on 3 separate tests? Generally testing is best done by weeing in a pot, first thing in the morning. Then dip any test in that. The reason I say that is false negatives can arise from urine that is either super watered down or hasn't been held in your bladder long.

What were the test brands? They all have different "thresholds" (of HCG) for showing positive

Will your clinic do HCG bloods? If yes, you'll get a definite answer from that

All 3 tests this morning were dipped in a pot from my first morning wee. One test was just a cheapy multipack from amazon & the other an early detection from my local shop not sure on the brand. Our clinic doesn't do bloods, need to now wait 3 weeks for a 7 week scan. Hoping my GP might do bloods if I explain what is going on.

Clearblue are not as sensitive.

Loopytiles · 13/02/2022 08:27

GP is unlikely to do blood tests, unfortunately it’s a waiting game!

Copasetic · 13/02/2022 08:29

Since false positives are very rare but false negatives aren’t, I’d say that you probably are pregnant.but to leave it at least a few days before retest,

Jenp89 · 13/02/2022 08:29

I did read about the conflicting results of clearblue tests, just very confused that it was the one that gave the positive this morning. Think a trip to the shop for more first response tests may give the answer we are looking for, hopefully.

I suspect the tests you have are all different sensitivities. The clear blue digital will be low, maybe 10miu whereas some of the cheapies are 25miu and require much higher levels of HCG. Wait a few days and retest. Or get a FRER that is 6.3miu

Jenp89 · 13/02/2022 08:37

Going to try another FRER & hope for a positive. Have a gut feeling that things are maybe not quite right though.

Good luck!

Hereforthefreecake · 13/02/2022 08:44

Fingers crossed for you OP.

I've had it where I got BFP on first response but had to wait about a week before I got BFP on Clear blue digital.

Jenp89 · 13/02/2022 08:54

Thanks all for the advice, just hoping its the different sensitivities of the tests & not my hcg levels dropping.

Good luck

Copasetic · 13/02/2022 09:19

Hope it all works out well for you.

Jenp89 · 14/02/2022 06:48

Negative this morning on a FRER, guess its just a cause now of waiting for the impending cramps & bleed.

Sorry to read this Jen, should it be a clear positive by now or is it still early,?

Jenp89 · 14/02/2022 18:59

Thank you @stairgates yeah, been for bloods this morning as well & my hcg level is 5. Need to ring our fertility clinic in the morning & discuss what happens next. No signs of a miscarriage so guess just going to have to ride it out & hope it happens sooner rather than later.
