Hello! My son is now coming up to 8 months and we are currently weaning/giving a bottle of formula a day and breastfeeding, does anyone have any experience or have become pregnant whilst breastfeeding? My periods are yet to return, I still feed overnight but may consider feeding from bottle to extend duration between feeds at night time too! We would like to get started trying for number 2 as soon as possible!

@Buttercupmoon I'm sorry you had a different experience to me, there is 11 months between me and my sister and then 13 between sister and brother, we had the best childhood.

I never had a period and I knew I wasn't ovulating but that's me saying obvs wouldn't know 100% but I'm quite in tune with my body and once my period returned, and I ovulated again. I can now tell again when I'm ovulating, I just check the calendar and it's always around ovulation date.

Yes I know two women who got pregnant three months after giving birth - both were exclusively breastfeeding. One was so surprised- doh! It's one of the first things the midwives asked me a few hours after having my children: have you had a bowel movement and have you organised birth control!

Thank you @Sneezymcsneezy.

My MIL had three under three at one point. Just under two years between my husband and his brother, than a contraception failure leading to their third son being born just 13 months later.

I get the impression that those early years were very very hard, but once they got older it was lovely for them all being so close in age, and they get on really well now as adults. It's nice for us too because we are all having children at the same time, so all my son's cousins are likely to be within a couple of years of him age wise.
