Hi.
I’m 38, have 2 children which I had no problem conceiving 14 years ago.

I have been on various birth control over the years.
IUD removed in June 2021 fell pregnant on the 2nd cycle in July, mmc in October at 9 weeks but I thought I was 11.
D&C mid October and my period started about a month after in November
Next cycle was 31 day’s then 22, then 21. This cycle I’ve noticed some of the symptoms that I might have ovulated, pain around 28th/29th Jan with definite EWCM which would have been cycle day 7 ,other cycles I haven’t noticed this so maybe I’m getting back to ovulating.

Is cycle day 7 way to early to ovulate and get a positive result?

I have tested today 8dpo and bfn, ruined my day and I wish I hadn’t.
My symptoms today are massive headache, backache/neckache, boobs sore to touch, quite hungry and very tired, no energy to do anything, but I know all of these can be PMS. Driving myself crazy!

Do you think I have any hope in having baby #3, I’d love to hear some short cycle success stories to make me feel better. Smile

I'm sorry I don't think I understand it correctly. You ask if cd7 is too early for ovulation, but tested by 8dpo. What cycle day are you at the moment?

Decaffe · 06/02/2022 20:18

Generally, ovulation before day ten means that the eggs are immature and so it is unlikely to be a successful conception that month. I would perhaps start taking Ubiquinol, it improves egg quality and pushed my ovulation date back by two days the first month I started using it. Best of luck Daffodil

I've no advice on short cycles but am also 38 TTC baby 3 after having 2 girls now aged 12 and 9. Not quite as long ago as your 14 years. Just wanted to wish you luck x

@Bundaberg84 sorry I wrote it wrong I ovulated on about cycle day 9. I tested yesterday at 7/8 dpo.

Ahh got it @Beaubaby - I take it you didn't track your ovulation then? It could be possible you ovulated later and you aren't 8dpo now?
As PP said, 21 days are very short cycles, have they always been that short?

Beaubaby · 06/02/2022 21:54

@Bundaberg84 I’m not really tracking at all. I was very regular 28 day’s but that was with an IUD. I think I’m probably out now, think I’m too old and have missed my chance.

@Pheepa thank you. I’m loosing hope month by month. The mmc sure has altered my cycles.

No you're definitely not too old. Also I'm the same age so I might be biased ;) but there are some vitamins you can look into to lengthen your cycle, or maybe talk to your GP about it and have your hormone levels tested?

Totalwasteofpaper · 07/02/2022 09:01

You are not too old I am 36 weeks pregnant and 38. I conceived with no major problems on a 24/26 day cycle.
I did take high dose folic acid and high dose co q10.

From a kind place please do not test until you are at least a week late.

Courtesy of the conception board I drove myself slightly do-Lally between testing for egg release (forget the name of the sticks but I was sure I had “no eggs”) and the stupid clear blue early detectors. One month I was a day late but SURE I was pregnant and so stunned at the negative I did 7 tests. (That was an expensive delusion)

There was a lot of crying and stress and insisting we needed fertility treatment. In reality I conceived the 4th month of “proper” trying… and was actually (unknowingly) pregnant when we went to see the fertility consultant 🤦🏻‍♀️ who was very my much “yeah…. So you need to calm down Confused
