Day 21 Progesterone Test

LottieePopssX · 03/02/2022 08:43

I had a Day 21 progesterone test that came back at 26. I've spoken to 2 receptionists and a doctor about this and have been told to repeat the test but still not been told why.

Please can somebody advise if this is a good/bad level and what it means? I know I should speak with a doctor but I just have and he hasn't really answered my question!

Thank you

So anything above 30 is indicative of ovulation, are you sure the test was down 7 days post ovulation? They call it day 21 test but it's really 7 days post ov test. It may be they are looking to test again because you're close to 30 but not quite there.

Also just a side note I've had mine done in the past and had a result of 25.6 but I got pregnant the following month so it's possible the test just didn't get done at the right time like mine

Ideally they want it to be over 30 and will usually ask you to re-test if it’s between 15-30.

The most important thing though is that although it’s called a day 21 test, it needs to be done seven days after you ovulate. How long is your cycle, and do you know which cycle day you typically ovulate?

For me, I ovulate on day 12, so I took the test on day 19.

Thank you, that's made me feel a lot better! And congratulations on your good news :-)

Thank you - I'm thinking of buying those ovulation sticks and using that plus 7 days to make sure I'm definitely testing at the right time

Mine was 29.5 and "borderline" but realised afterwards that I'd had it done on day 21 of my cycle so was only 5dpo rather than 7. I would get a repeat but make sure it's 7 days after ovulation

I had a result of 29...turns out I was only 3dpo....had it retested next cycle at 7dpo and it was 48
