So I'm pretty certain I ovulated on or around the 20th January.

I have regular periods with a cycle length of 29/30 days.

I'm due on in 3 days, I have tested this morning with a cheapy and is negative.

Should I just hold out to see if my period arrives before re testing?

@allthingssparkly if you think you ovulated on the 20th then today makes you 13dpo. I'm afraid it's quite unlikely you're pregnant of you tested negative this late, so I wouldn't test again unless AF doesn't show.

Do you do anything to track your ovulation though? Otherwise you may have ovulated later than that and still be in with a chance.

@Juno231 I know it was somewhere between the 20th - 22nd Jan. The app I use to track my periods says my ovulation day was the 22nd Jan which would only make me 11 DPO today.

I just remember on the 20th going to the toilet and wiping it was like an egg white sticky discharge 🤔

I don't track ovulation, we are just going with the flow 😊

Yes, hold out. Try to avoid getting into the habit of multiple testing. It's a waste of money and just increases the disappointment!

Juno231 · 02/02/2022 10:09

@allthingssparkly okay the ewcm makes sense but do remember that apps just wildly guess :)

Good luck for AF day!

@Juno231 The app drives me mad with the ovulation predictions, however I just solely use it to input my period start and end dates in each month.

I may consider start using ovulation tests so it gives me more of an indication as to when I'm actually ovulating. Never used them in my other pregnancies as I was very lucky in getting pregnant super quickly 🙈

I wouldn't test again befor your AF is due or overdue @allthingssparkly, but you're not out until AF showed up :)
If you're really regular it might make sense to track your ovulation for a cycle and log it into your app, that way it will predict your ovulation date more precise in the future.

allthingssparkly · 02/02/2022 10:58

@Bundaberg84 I will just wait now to see if AF arrives! 😊

Yeah my periods are super regular, every 29/30 days so I may start using the ovulation tests from my next cycle if my period comes this weekend.

My advice to you and everyone here is to hold out, unfortunately the trend for early and frequent testing, to to mention tracking cycles with sticks has been encouraged by the makers of the products playing on insecurities. There's nothing you can do at this point to change what is unfortunately. The advice when I had mine many moons ago was to test at 5 days after your period was due no earlier because you need to ensure the pregnancy has established and ovulation does vary, not bad advice.
