Does anyone find the 2ww utterly distracting?

I guess the pre-ovulation phase isn’t so bad because essentially you just wee on a stick every day and TTC as much as possible.

But dear Lord the two week wait! I have done NO work today, which is terrible as I had a deadline today which I have now missed. Googling symptoms, blood tests, hormone levels, frequency of TTC, looking at old MN threads. The whole thing absorbs my thoughts all day long. Anyone else?

No, because I didn't do all the sticks etc, just eat a good diet, enjoy having regular sex and when your period is late you can test. Keep checking won't make your any more likely to have a successful pregnancy but the retailers of these kits have made a fortune out of peoples anxieties

Oh, it’s not pregnancy testing that’s distracting me. It’s the whole concept of TTC in general.

I find it MEGA distracting. Would rather do anything but look but can't stop either!!! And things like hearing about other people's news etc just accelerates me into a rabbit hole of doom! I even talk to myself out loud but it doesn't help. I feel my neck is constantly bent over craning at forums etc 😂

I think its mega distracting too. Refreshing the threads I'm watching, googling when was the earliest symptoms started. Googling what symptoms they might be. Even though obviously everyone is different. I'm only on month 1 and I think as time goes I'm likely to lose interest in the Internet googling stuff but not the tracking

I’m currently at my work laptop, doing the work that should have been done today had I not been so distracted by it all Hmm

Yes! Soo distracted, especially at work and I also find myself getting behind and having to work over because of all the time I've wasted reading threads and googling! I can't control myself at all. I'm even worse in the week leading up to AF!

That only works for some ways of getting pregnant/TTC @gogohm lol - but you're right that obsessing doesn't change outcome though fertility info can be super useful.

I also find the TWW utterly distracting @Decaffe and I wonder if MN makes it worse?? It's such a relief to have a sort of safe space to connect with others and share info and talk about our experiences but sometimes I think it's making me more distracted and obsessive

Definitely. I think I drove myself crazy last month. I think mumsnet makes it worse off me personally but at the same time helps pass the time. I don’t remember being like this when TTC#1 but I probably was and it all just faded into distant memories when I got my BFP.

Reassuring in a way to know it’s not just me though. Am determined this cycle not to test early, not to Google symptoms and distract myself as much as possible.., we’ll see how that goes.

Good luck to you, hope you get your BFP soon.

Yup. Every moment of every day I’m wondering, symptom spotting, Googling. Drives me mad.
